Chapter 2: Exploring Sights

After 2 hours of planning there was a decision to check out the nebulae first, then the constellations and finally the galaxy itself which was the decided plan. I understood our plan and told the navigator of the satellite named Joseph to go full speed ahead to the first nebulae which was a red one and he also kept snapping photos and images. it took 5 hours to reach the nebulae and I was responsible to take notes on it and began to take a node at it's odd shape which had several strange protrusions but all glowing like a lava lamp, I decided to name this the Shield nebula because it was shaped much like a medieval shield ready to block an arrow. "it's called the shield nebula, that is the decision right?" susie asked and i nodded and wrote this down, the next nebulae was named the hexagonal nebula because of its shape being similar to the shape on top of saturn. the hexagonal nebula was directly right of the shield nebula all the way on the other side of the asteroid belt. the best part about this exploration day to me was the discovery of the first new planet which I didn't name yet because we haven't discovered any real qualities to give it such names. the satellite was scheduled to land in 2 hours and that it did having the smoothest landing in satellite history, we get our spacesuits on and double check for any openings so the space won't rush in and suffocate us to death. the first person to step out was damien who was about to make a pun but we underestimated the gravity thinking it would be like the moons but it was more like mars gravity because he fell straight on his face and we all laughed at him. once everyone got outside we were able to get such a good view of the planet which was 1 times the size of mars but the light blue texture made it so pretty and more like a glacier. I spent the time investigating the planet itself with a few tools to get samples out of the planet in order to study them easier and make up a name for this world, I took out an ice pick and a sledge hammer in order to crack the ground and remove the piece like with earth ice. I carefully placed the golf ball sized material into a jar and brought it back in the satellite for later studying and then back outside to look at the sky which had some of the strangest clouds ever, Then it began to breeze and when I mean breeze I mean the wind kicked up so much it blew a loose chunk out of the ground and it almost hit our satellites camera but missed by a meter. we had to go back inside in a hurry and leave the planets surface in order to be safe from the harsh mach winds that coated the planet now so we couldnt see its light blue color, instead there was only whirlwinds which gave me an inspiration for a name of this planet. a fitting name for this planet would be MegaGale due to its winds being 170 times greater than winds and gusts on earth, I named it while looking at the fragment of the ground which was made of an unknown crystalline material that had a similar weight to carbon but more glowing properties despite being uncut. I needed more time to figure out any other things about this planet that would be of interest and it came in the shape of its clouds which were a greenish color like the rare phenomenon on earth with the green sky. I named the crystalline "unknown crystal 1" because just in case we find something with similar properties but not the same material and species, i sent a picture of the planet during windstorm and the crystalline to HQ and they didn't have a name for the crystal either but agreed on the name MegaGale for the planet. My real goal though was to find a planet that held some traces of life intelligent or not which I was hoping to find on MegaGale but due to the winds it would be difficult for life to flourish and exist in such harsh environments. I did many experiments with the crystalline and even held it up to a light which when it penetrated through casted a barrage of rainbows like a real gemstone except these were more clear like ones in the sky. we discovered the first star a year into our exploration which was a blue star meaning it was hotter than our star and this was the same size as the pistol star giving off a bunch of heat that was around the same temperature pistol star was except it had a bit more being 11,900 k. we had no name for it yet but left it up to HQ and the world to decide that one upon our discovery of its existence. I was very glad we made all these discoveries but the best surprise was still coming like a slow train, "guys I have a new quest for us and that is to find a world with any trace of life" I said enthusiastically and everyone agreed that if anything the proof of more life would be the most popular thing for Methuselah.
