Chapter 1: The arrival

I had a very strange dream, that our satellite named Ruby crashed into an asteroid right before we came to the galaxy Methuselah and we all suffocated due to the lack of oxygen which is what woke me up first. "hm?" I though as I looked around the light green space which looked like a capsule shaped shower and I was completely submerged in light blue liquid which looked green because of the glow of the small bulbs that lit up the space. I remember that the capsule opened like iron gates and I fell onto the cold floor around the light blue liquid and I began to quickly shiver getting up. I finally remembered who i was and where i was, my name is sammy macrae and I am the head scientist of this satellite and I was also the first to wake up from our slumber. I slipped on my outfit and clothes and went to wake everyone else up from their 1 year slumber which was a 10 year slumber for people on earth. the first person awakened was my assistant scientist named damien who was mostly joking around and making awful puns during experiments, when he first came out he made an awful pun and I face palmed and jerked him to his feet "Be serious ok! we have arrived" I tell him as I toss him some of his clothes. I was attempting to let the others out but I was distracted by the view outside which was just so pretty, there were several planets visible and several nebulae and new constellations we never could have dreamed of, I was mesmerized by the sights like a fish being charmed by an angler fish's light. by the time I turned back everyone was getting their clothes on and also looking out the windows and glass to see what I was staring at also being mesmerized until damien told a joke and we all sneared at him as if we were tigers. we watched the space for a few minutes before remembering about earth and our caller back to base girl named susie picked up the phone which could pick up signals from way out here and she chuckled when she heard the people sigh in relief as if we had failed our mission. "we have arrived" susie exclaimed into the phone and we could here the whole room clapping from 4 meters away from the phone and I could tell susie was happy too, "also we have already discovered new things, here we will send some pictures" susie said as she told us to ready the satellites small camera drones. several flashes were sent out and we were able to catch the images of 4 constellations, 1 visible planet, 2 nebulae with absurd shapes and a few other things like an asteroid belt, "these are only a fraction of the things we've seen" I say into the phone and we could know they were agape about the images broadcasted back home on earth. they were complimenting us on our work on Methuselah and urged us to continue the best we could and simultaneously we all nodded and replied "right" and began to set up plans for what to do next.
