"Grumpy"

As they walked through the glass doors, Hailie could see the rooms, more like cells, around the column. They had different colours on the doors.

"These cells are ' The impossible rooms'? They are smaller than my bedroom. Also, What are the colours for? I've seen them before, the night of the race, your group had bandanas with these colours on them" Hailie said.

Bryan arched a brow:" So you were stalking me that night." His smirk never leaving his face.

"No, I wasn't! It's hard to ignore a group of teenagers with colourful bandanas and really expensive cars." Hailie protested.

Bryan simply shrugged:" Well, you know what they say, hide in the plain sight. What can I say, we are glamorous. The colours are here to categorize people by their powers. Simple right?" He paused, then continued with a frown and stern voice: " The, cells, are called the training rooms. This whole place and," He stopped himself and frowned deeply:" The training rooms are called the impossible room because we make the impossible, possible in these rooms."

Hailie rolled her eyes. These people seriously had a thing for classic-cliche stuff.

"If you're done with rolling your eyes for the millionth time, let's go see the training rooms." Bryan said sarcastically.

"Oh by all means, please show me the process of making the impossible, possible ." Hailie mocked Bryan. He simply rolled his eyes and walked toward a door with a blue label on it. " You see strawberry, you could get your answer by just listening to me. You are too busy judging everyone and everything that you miss the simple and small details. I thought you were smarter than this. Sharper to be exact."

Hailie frowned and started to answer:" I'm not judging..."

Bryan cut her off: "Then we don't have a thing for the cliche stuff?"

Hailie's frown deepened. She stayed quiet. She wasn't sure how Bryan could simply read her mind even though he said he couldn't. And she was sure she didn't say that out loud for him to hear. As much as she didn't like it, he was right. She was judging everything because it was all new for her. She was acting like her dad. Suspicious and judgmental. Bryan could easily get on her nerves, only with his words, and that made Hailie so angry. But she wasn't going to let that affect her.

"Will you show me the rooms or not?" She managed to choke that out.

Bryan smirked and opened the door. Hailie could see it was a small empty room with some cupboards. She arched a brow at Bryan, to which he replied with an innocent, but still nerve-racking attractive, smile and nodded toward the door." After you, my lady."

Hailie rolled her eyes and walked into the room. She went further in and gasped immediately. Was this even possible? She looked around the room. The small empty room that she saw outside was completely gone. It was a huge area, with a lot of metal, furniture, tools and blue maps of, well of stuff, laying here and there. There were people. All with blue bandanas. They seemed to be working with the metals and tools. But the things they were making wasn't like anything Hailie had seen before. She looked back at Bryan. He was leaning sideways toward the door frame with his arms crossed and his usual smirk.

"How? What is th-? HUH?" Hailie was so confused.

Bryan laughed."You look cute when you're confused." He walked toward her and stood right in front of her. He looked in her eyes then continued with a very stern voice:" Making the impossible possible, remember? I mean every word I say strawberry. Don't consider me as one of those fools who just say stuff to look cool or smart. I don't need to pretend anything. I don't need to tell you everything as well. Do not underestimate me. I have my reasons to bring you here and be nice to you. But if you even try to tell your dad, or anyone for that matter, about all of this, I won't be the same. I will make you regret it. So moral of the story, don't betray my trust. Are we clear?"

Hailie nodded. She didn't know why all of a sudden he turned so serious and, scary. But she was sure she didn't want to see his other side or tell anyone about this place.

"I wasn't planning on telling anyone. I know you somehow benefit from telling me these. I'm not a fool either." She then regained her confidence and continued:" I'm still not sure, but I know my power is what you're after. I just don’t get why you're playing all of these games." She looked dead into Bryan's eyes.

He simply smiled at her and leaned to whisper something in her ear:" You don’t know one-bit strawberry. Besides I only play when I'm sure I'll win."

Then he wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her toward one of the guys working on metal.

"Thomas! How's the project going?" He said in a cheerful, yet demanding, voice.

Thomas turned around and grinned:" Project is going just fine. Who's the pretty lady?" He said with a playful tone.

"This beautiful, adorable, lady is my Hailie. My girlfriend." He said proudly. Hailie couldn’t stop smiling when he said adorable. He actually listened to her.

Thomas smiled:" You finally found someone big guy? That's why you're glowing?" he turned his gaze toward Hailie:" It's very lovely to meet you. I can't believe you're dealing with him. "

Hailie chuckled:" Well someone should. He was getting grumpy."

She looked at Bryan. He had a genuine smile on his lips. She didn’t know what that meant, she assumed he was happy that she was falling into the 'girlfriend' character as well.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Thomas:" Yeah he was. I'm really happy for you two. Congrats man!"

Bryan smiled at him and looked at him expectingly. After a few seconds, Thomas shook his head as if he understood what Bryan was asking him and he turned toward Hailie, again.

"Would you like to know how we do the trick?"

Hailie must have looked confused because Thomas scratched the back of his head and said: "You know, hiding the room and all of this stuff that we are working on here?"

Hailie shook her head. Thomas took off his gloves and put them down.

"Well, we-"

"BRYAN!" someone shouted with panic.

They turned around and Hailie saw Sam and 3 more people running toward them.

"I thought I told sam I don’t want to be interrupted," Bryan said in a stern voice.

"Yes, but you should come. Something happened and we don’t know what to do."

Bryan frowned:" What happened?"

"We received a package," Sam said with a timid voice.

"Package? But it has only been 2 days! That’s not possible!" Bryan's voice was edgy.

Sam looked at him with big pleading eyes." I know you have your girl with you and you want to show her around. But we can't open it. It only opens with you."

Bryan looked at Hailie. Hailie was so confused. What's a package? What did he mean?

"I'm sorry strawberry. I really don’t want to leave you alone."

Hailie knew he was feeling guilty because of the night of the race. She was about to say it was okay when they heard Josh's voice.

"I can show her around boss."

she could feel Bryans grip around her waist tightening. She looked at him. He looked angry. She could feel Bryan's hate toward Josh.

She smiled at Josh and turned to look at Bryan. She could feel his stress as a leader and his stress of leaving her alone with Josh. All of a sudden she understood everything. She could finally read Bryan. Not his mind, But his emotions.

She felt special and, warm. She felt Bryan's trust toward herself.

She continued looking at him, When he didn’t look back she simply put a hand on his hand that was resting around her waist. When Bryan looked at her, she smiled at him sweetly and whispered:" it's okay grumpy. I know you have work to do. I can go with Thomas. You can come to join us when you're done, yeah?"

Bryan looked surprised. Hailie only smiled again and shook her head. She kinda came to terms with him knowing what's going on in her mind. He chuckled and shook his head." Okay, strawberry. Thomas, please show her around. And keep her safe." His voice unbelievingly stern and threatening.

Thomas nodded and Bryan left with one last glance toward Hailie. Taking Josh with him.

Hailie turned toward Thomas and raised her eyebrow.: "So are you planning on showing me around?"

"Did you just call him grumpy ?" Thomas said laughing.

Hailie laughed. She could definitely get used to this.
