'Where... Where am I?' I thought to myself as I felt myself floating in the air. It was strange as despite not being able to move, I was not nervous in the least bit.
Opening my eyes I looked around and spotted what seemed to be Heaven, but different. I was in a clouded area with golden clouds surrounding me. But instead of seeing the Gates to Heaven or even an Angel all I spotted was a floating man.
It was difficult to describe the man as he appeared simply as a golden figure that shined brightly and was muscular. What I could make out of his hair and facial features was difficult, but I would assume them to be above average.
"Ah, you're awake." The man spoke with a fatherly voice. "You must be wondering what happened and where you are."
"Yes, I am actually wondering where I am. How did I get here... and furthermore, why am I here?". I politely asked as I could feel no ill-intentions coming from the figure.
The figure scratched his chin and looked down for a second. "Well... you are currently in my realm, or to be more exact, my Multiverse. For the reason of why and how, well it happened due to an rare event that I dubbed 'Universe Collisions.'."
I scrunched my nonexistent nose and thought about what he just said. 'The Multiverse theory? I thought that was impossible... But with Lena time traveling is it really that hard to believe?'
"What do you mean Multiverse? Am I in a different universe of my own reality or something different? Furthermore what do you mean by Universe Collision? I am... confused..." I spoke quietly as I pictured what the figure was trying to explain.
The figure stared at me with compassion and said "The Omniverse is massive, it contains every idea, concept, everything ever. Within the Omniverse there are Multiverse's or Megaverses, which is what you are in now. Originally you were in your own Multiverse, while I was in my own, but due to the Universe Collision you ended up apart of mine." The figure continued to stare at me as he explained more.
"A Universe Collision is simply the term I gave it, but in all honesty it has many names." The figure coughed and got back on point. "Back on point, a Universe Collision is when two or more Multiverse's collide. These collisions can cause untold damage to the universe's, or simply no damage at all. Sadly, it seems that you've gotten the short end of the stick, as you were the only piece of damage that occurred."
The golden figure sat down in the air and looked towards me with pity on his face. 'What does he mean I'm the only piece of damage that occurred?'. I tried moving away to look around but found myself only able to turn in place. The figure as if he heard my thoughts looked down at the ground.
"What I mean is that nothing happened during the Universe Collision except your soul somehow ending up in my Multiverse. Becoming a part of my Multiverse. I am... truly sorry, but there is no way to have your soul moved back to your Universe." The Golden Figure looked at me with pity and moved towards me.
"Wha-what! But I have a job! A duty that I must complete at all costs! I... I can't be stuck here, not yet at least. There's so many people that I've yet to help!" My tone increased as I began to get more nervous.
'Am I really stuck here!? But what about Overwatch? What about my friends and family!? They still-' My thoughts were cut off by a warm feeling surrounding my shoulder. Looking up I saw the figure look all the more upset than I was while holding my shoulder.
Frankly the figure looked like he was the only one I could relate to. "I'm sorry, but your family, your friends, they will be okay. They will move on... It is simply the way of life, you know this don't you Doctor Ziegler."
My eyes widened in shock as he called my name out. The warm feeling spread throughout me as I gained my physical body back. My hair dropped down into my face suddenly making me look down. Feeling something drop from my face I looked towards my hands.
'I pr-promised not to cry ever again... But I-I cant...' I felt defeated as I fell to my knees. "Bu-but I was not finished yet... That's why I made myself ageless... immortal... so that I could always help them until the end."
"I know, you have sacrificed so much. I saw your whole life myself when you became a part of this Multiverse you know. You have done so much for the people of your world, saved lives, changed the world itself even. You did everything and anything for them... it's admirable."
I thought of the mans words and grew bitter. "I made mistakes, I simply never wanted anyone to end up like I did..." memories of my parents death by the omnics flashed through my head alongside every other important mistake I made, such as Gabriel Reyes, Overwatch, failed surgeries, everything.
The figure shook his head and pat me on the shoulder. "Sure you've made mistakes. Heck even I have made my fair share of them, but don't let that stop you now. You have been given a chance to start over! A new beginning! Even I won't get that chance, so don't let the past stop you now. I believe one of your friends, Reinhardt? Didn't he say "Move forward, always."? Listen to him!"
I hung on every word of what he said and then chuckled while wiping my nose on my arm. "Heh, Reinhardt always did say that didn't he. I....Thank you... I really needed a little pep talk." Taking a second, I looked down at my hands and squeezed them.
'They really wouldn't want me crying my eyes out over them, I think this man is right, I shouldn't get so hung up on the past.' I thought to myself as I remembered all of the good times I spent with my family and my friends. Flashes of fighting together, living together, laughing together passed through my mind.
The figure reached his hand out to me, seeing this I took it and felt how incredibly gentle he was as he helped to lift me to my feet. "No problem, we all need some help sometimes. Now that you're feeling a little better how about we talk about the future instead of the past."
Standing on my feet I looked towards the man and wiped my eyes again. "I-I think that would be appropriate, wouldn't it." I placed the memories of Overwatch behind me and looked around the room and back to the man.
"So what now Mr-I just now noticed I never got your name."
The golden figure looked distraught for a second and sighed. "I guess I didn't did I? Well, I go by many names but most call me the One Above All, but please call me whatever you would like." as the golden figure announced his name it was as if everything lit up, as if agreeing with the title.
'Quite the pretentious name, but I won't complain. After all he has been nice to me.' I thought to myself and smiled. "So, what now One Above All? Will I be stuck here, or will I be sent to a random world?" I asked in a worried tone.
"Haha don't worry so much Doctor, you can choose to do whatever you want. You can go to anywhere you wish, be it staying here in paradise, or being sent to a new world." The One Above All laughed as he leaned against an invisible wall.
I thought about his answer for a second. Flashes of Overwatch passed through my mind again as I heard the word new world. 'They would want me to help others wouldn't they... Gopfertammi! What am I thinking, I never started being a doctor just for Overwatch, I started so that I could save lives. To help others! I have the perfect chance to start over and not make the same mistakes that I did in the beginning.'
I grew determined and looked towards One Above All. He spotted a small smile on his face as he leaned off the wall.
"So, it seems you've made your choice. Even now you want to help others... You know if I wasn't an ultimate being I would think you were an Angel. So how about this, I am going to give you a little gift for your selflessness." The One Above All approached me and placed a finger on my head.
I felt the same warmth as before and felt something inside me change. "What did you do?" I calmly asked as I watched him back away from me with a smile.
"Well, I gave you a small gift." I grimaced slightly at this causing him to grin. "Ha, don't worry Angela, it's nothing too much. It's just to prepare you for what's coming. You'll know what it is when the time is right."
"Ever the cryptid aren't you Above All?" I asked in a snarky tone causing him to chuckle.
"It comes with age, but I will say you won't need to worry about ageing past 25. Now!" he clapped his hands and turned around. "It's time to choose where to put you... hmmm you want to help people, so it needs more issues than normal but not enough to make it too difficult for you, it needs to be... special."
'What is this man going on about?' I thought as I shook my head. Touching my forehead, I noticed that I still felt the warmth from when he touched me.
The One Above All began to swipe his hands like a mad man as if he was searching through a tablet. "Ah! Here we are, I think this one will be perfect... Yes, this will be the one. It might be a little chaotic at first, but I think you will enjoy it." he said in a jovial tone.
Coughing slightly I made my presence known again. Slowly he turned my way and scratched his head. "My apologies I got a little to into choosing where to send you."
"Oh? Really? I couldn't notice, but what I did notice is that I know nothing of where you're sending me." I put my hands on my hips and stared at him.
"Ah yes yes, don't worry so much Doctor, I was just about to get to it." The One Above All smiled kindly at me and then said, "You will be sent to what I like to call the 'Prime Universe' or in other cases the center of my Multiverse. Everything interesting will happen there, and I think you will fit in perfectly there."
I nodded towards him and imagined the center of the Multiverse. "I haven't asked but is there an Earth here as well? And if so, will I be sent there. I would like some more information please." I politely asked.
"Hmm, well you are being sent to Earth 616, every major event, every catastrophe, everything will happen there. They will be the focal point of the universe, and because of that I believe they need your help the most. I look back at it and see that it needs a doctor, a miracle worker so to say as a lot of good people get hurt quite often in this universe."
I stared at him blankly and sighed. "Hah... of course. I can't complain too much because it's a new start, but before I go can you explain more to me."
The One Above All listened and grinned after hearing my acceptance. "Don't worry about that, you will know a little bit about everything when you get there and for anything you don't know I think you can make it. Besides if things get too out of hand my gift should help."
I nodded gratefully at The One Above All. 'Oh thank goodness, I thought I would be sent to a new Universe without knowing anything... that would truly be difficult to adapt to.'
"Now then! Angela Ziegler, before I send you off do you have any questions or anything you want?" The One Above All excitedly asked as he began to swipe his hand again.
Thinking for a moment I thought about how kind The One Above All is. "Well... if I can ask, uh... Is it okay if we can talk every once in a while? Some way for me to meet you?"
The One Above All stopped after he heard this and looked back at me. "That... hmm. Well, I normally don't get involved in what happens, you understand?" I nodded in understandement as he continued. "But... well, this isn't exactly normal. I never once had a soul flung into my Multiverse, and you have been a pleasure to talk to, so I will make an exception."
He nodded to himself as he walked towards me again and patted my shoulder. "I will know when you want to talk, so just think of my name and that you want to meet with me. Just know these will strictly be talks, nothing else. I can't make too big of an exception for you, Hahaha!" He laughed towards the end.
"Well thank you for making such an exception as I have quite enjoyed our chat. I will be looking forward to a less chaotic chat next time though." I said in my swiss accent and smiled.
The One Above All simply gave me a fatherly smile and then did a small hand motion. "Well Angela, it was a pleasure to speak to you and to get to see your life story. You're quite the special person." after saying that I watched as the clouds opened bellow my feet causing me to fall.
"Wha! Ahhh!" I screamed as I began to rapidly drop below the golden clouds.
"I will see you later Angela, make sure to help plenty of people! I can't wait to see how you change everything..." The One Above All's voice echoed and faded as I fell.
Picking up speed I watched the scenery around me begin to change. The golden clouds slowly turned into stars and galaxies. 'I'm in space!' I screamed in my mind as I picked up more speed heading in a certain direction.
I was nearly hypnotized by how beautiful space was. I saw planet after planet, star after star, until I noticed that I was slowing down. Looking around I noticed that I was in the Earths solar system. Speeding past Pluto, I watched as the planets and asteroids passed by me like race cars.
Flying straight to Earth I felt a warm feeling and looked towards my hands. I was glowing and slowly turning into glowing particles. 'Wha-whats happening!?' I shouted in fear as I flew towards Earth at an alarming speed.
I passed by Saturn, Jupiter, then Mars until I finally saw Earth in its full glory. I was glowing even brighter now and turning into particles rapidly causing me to cry out in fear.
"Ahhhhh!" I screamed as I entered orbit and flew into the atmosphere. My entire left side of the body was turned into glowing particles now, yet it didn't cause the slightest discomfort. The speed increased once more as I seemed to fly into Europe and headed straight towards Switzerland.
I got closer and closer until I could finally see buildings. I was calmer for some reason as I felt more of my self-disintegrate. I could only imagine what I looked like to onlookers as I fully disintegrated and flew around the night sky. Slowly I felt myself pull into a certain direction, leading to a hospital.
I finally slowed down enough to the point that I could fully make out objects and signs. Suddenly the speed I had just vanished. I was gently pulled in the direction of a white building. Looking towards it I noticed that it was a major hospital.
Almost as if fate chose it, I felt myself speed up again and fly towards the building. Unwillingly I flew straight through the hospital and into what looked to be a delivery that failed. A mother was holding a baby that wasn't responding in her arms while crying.
All I could feel was pity for the woman and her dead child. Slowly I began to float towards the baby, I no longer had my body and all that I was was glowing particles. Floating towards the baby I felt a pull, and just like that I noticed that I was merging with it.
The woman looked surprised and gasped only to see the baby's eyes abruptly open. Suddenly the baby began to cry causing the entire room to look on in surprise at the baby that was brought back to life.
AN: Iffy chapter because I had to figure out how to start this. Its surprisingly difficult because what I'm doing is completely new to me. Luckily I had a lot of time on my hands because I caught Covid and had the time and motivation to write something new. Most chapters wont be this long and probably wont be updated too often because I'm still very busy with settling in to College.
Sry if there's any grammar mistakes, I just don't have the time or will right now to read through all of this to put a comma here or there.
PS: How did I do? I don't write Marvel because of all the difficulties it has with how big the world is. I also usually only write exclusively in reincarnation of OC's not characters, so sorry if its a bit boring or bad, I hope to occasionally release chapters of this new style of writing and improve on writing Marvel/Not OC fanfics.
Hope you enjoyed - Not fully back so I am still on Hiatus, this idea was just too good to let go and because I'm sick in bed I had the time to write this.
