JEFFERY
My eyelids snapped open and I was met with the monotony of my gray celling prompting a disgruntled sigh.
"Any word from Chloe?" My voice rasped with morning roughness.
Jamie's synthesized tone responded flatly. "No." Eliciting a frustrated snarl from my lips.
I've been calling her nonstop since yesterday only to be met with silence and it's driving me crazy.
I yearn for the sound of her voice.
Under my breath, I whispered. "Call her." The phone rang, each tone dragged, feeling like an eternity.
"Please pick up, Chloe." I silently pleaded.
My hope sank when her voicemail greeting cut in. 'this is Chloe, leave a message..'
"Please pick up or just call me back, Chloe."
The beep signaled the end of the call and a guttural groan escaped me as I clenched my fist.
My head craves for her voice. It's like my personal-branded paracetamol.
