Chapter 35: Officialy an Adventurer

Following the receptionnist out, I was able to make out the details of the hall we were in. The brightly lit area was an indoor, dirt floored arena with standard theater seats that appeared more like exaggerated stairs.

While most of the seats were empty except for the scattered ten or so people, there was a tense atmosphere as everyone's eyes focused on the two people at the center of the arena.

"Please, follow me to your seats. There are quite a number of examinees today so if you would remain seated until the examiner calls your name, it'll really help speed up the process." The receptionist gave us one last quick bow before scurrying back down the rows of stone seats.

I saw from far Ash and Lucy sitting there and we walked towards them. I was siting next to Jasmine, to my left is Lucy then Ash and on the other side next to jasmine is Art or should I day 'Note' lol.

I leaned forward to get a better view of the two fighters about to duel. Jasmine simply leaned back in apathy with her legs crossed.

"How did you come here guys?" I asked both Lucy and Ash. I left them at the reception after all.

"The receptionist seeing that we were with you proposed to take us where you will be taking the test, so we just accepted." Ash explained.

"Yeah! You better beat them Meliodas! Hehe" Lucy excitedly said with a big smile while holding her fist.

"Who do you think your talking to? Of course im going to kill it." I fist bumped her.

A couple of fights went by and Arthur's turn came. "Next examinee, Note! Please come down!" The examiner bellowed without looking up

Arthur went down and started his fight with the examinator but it was suddently interrupted by Kaspian saying something like he would be the one to test the next two candidats, does that mean he will test me too?

Arthur impressed Kaspian but didn't defeat him, in the end he gave him rank B, then the next candidat was annouced by himself.

"Melidoas, please come down here!" He screamed to me.

I handed Sylvie that was on my lap to Jasmine since Arthur gave her to me before his test. "Here I go guys." I said.

"Good luck!' x2 Both Lucy and Ash cheered. I patted Amaya's head while going down to the arena, on my way down on the stairs I high-fived Arthur.

I was now on the arena streching my arms and muscles. "I have to admit that your friend there impressed me, I hope you will do the same" Kaspian said pushing his glasses back.

"Haha, you won't be disapointed, just try to keep up with me." I lifted both my hands in front of my neck like a boxing stance.

Seconds later I completly disapeared, only to reappear a few inches in front of Kaspian's face, I infused mana in my hand and puched him on the cheek.

His reflexes barely able to save him from the punch, he dodged it and tried to take step backs but I didn't allow it because when I touched the ground I did a 180° rotating tackle, this move forced him to jump in the air or else he would be on the floor right now.

"Got you!" I muttered under my breath.

I took out my dagger from Amaya's mouth as she opened it anticipating that I would want it, my right hand holding tightly the handle, I ran my left hand fingers down the blade of my dagger, imbuing it with scarlet red fire. I swung up to release a huge arc of red flames, I could clearly see the suprised look on his face.

Many cries and cheers could be heard from the crowd, the last thing they expected is for a kid to make a popular and know AA veteran adventurer struggle in a fight.

Kaspian landed on the edge of the arena to keep distance from us after jumping back with many spots on his clothes burnt from my last attack.

"Hoho, I guess I will get a little serious" He said lifting his sword pointing it to the sky.

Holding his weird looking sword in his left hand, he shot at me three wind bullet that were barely visible which I was able to dodge by doing a special foot work that consisted of side steps, looking back at him I couldn't find him in his original location, at that moment my spidey senses screamed to me that there was a big danger behind me.

Kaspian thursted a very fast and stong attack with his weapon aiming at my head. Not having enough time to dodge I activated for a moment my demon powers and stopped his strike using my three fingers that had black demon marks on them.

Feeling a heavy pressure on him, kaspian retreated back a few jumps and asked "M-Mr. Meliodas are you allright?"

I turned to him with a cheerful smile. "Of course Im alright, let's continue our battle I was starting to have some fun!" I lifted my left hand pointing at him.

[FIRE BALL]

Blue fire balls exploded on Kaspian but he dodged them at the right time leaving behind him a huge crater created by the power of the explosion.

[WIND BULLETS RELEASE]

Five huge wind bullet came towards me at great speed, it was really hard to avoid such big attacks this is why...

[FULL COUNTER]

I screamed as the five bullets stoped suddently from their tracks and came back to their caster five times their original size, speed and power.

"SHIT...!" Was all I could hear as the attacks landed on Kaspian sending him crash on the walls of the guild.

"What the fuck was that?! Did he just reflect back the attacks that Kaspian used?!" Many whispers were heard at the seats.

"H-how is that possible, that kid just beated an AA adventurer..." Another one spoke.

"LET'S GOOO! GOOD JOB MELIODAS!" Ash shouted from up there.

"YAAAY! YOU WERE SOO COOL MELIODAS!" Lucy cheered up.

"Ughh, t-that was intense. Reflecting a magical attacks? I never heard of such abilities..." Kaspian spoke trying to get up from the debrits of the wall with most of his clothes either torn appart or burnt and his glasses broken in half. "Who would have though that we will have two new monsters join our guild." He continued.

"You're a monster too, who would have tough that you would dodge most my attacks?" I placed my dagger back inside Amaya.

"Getting praised by a kid, haha hilarious. You truly are strong tho, I would've given you rank AA since you deserve it, but your age won't do it, so we will go with rank A for now."

After hearing my result, I went back to my seat next to Jasmine. "Wow man, you really are impressive I always knew that you were strong but not to this point" Ash said excitedly with sparks on his eyes, he clearly reminded me of Asta from black clover.

"Now you know" I shruggered it.

"Humph! Of course he's strong, what are you talking about? Only a blind person wouldn't understand that by now." Proudly spoke Lucy with her arms under her chest as if me being strong was the most obvious thing in the world.

"You became very strong Meliodas." Jasmine said with an expressionless face as always.

"Thank you." I simply replied, I actualy dont like her personality this is why I never engaged in long serious a conversation with her.

"Nice job as always haha" Arthur joked.

"You still look stupid with that mask, Note~" I teased him with a mocking tone on the last word.

"Shut the fuck up man." He tried to grapple me.

After witnessing a few other boring fights, no one was going to make a better show than me, right?.

The only one who attractedy attention a little bit was a kid of my age named Lucas Wykes, he has very strong fire powers and great potential to exploit but his shitty arrogant personality is going to ruin everything. He's the embodiment of the spoiled brats Virion described that day.

"That was the last examination for today! Please go to the front desk to receive your adventurer's card. Everyone is dismissed!" The augmenter examiner shouted out as he and the other examiner both rushed after their boss.

The same receptionist that had led us to the examination site handed me my silver colored adventurer's card at the front desk, Arthur got a copper one since he's ranked B as well as Ash and Lucy had copper, the two of them being ranked as E.

From E-class to B-class, the card was a copper color, while starting from A-class, it would change to silver, then gold for AA class, then white for S class.

"Do you have a close relationship with Kaspian, Jasmine?" Arthur asked after putting away his card.

"He's an acquaintance of my father," she said simply with a cold chill to her voice.

He didn't dig for any further answers. She obviously didn't have any positive feelings regarding the man. Changing the subject, I asked my adventuring guardian. "So what should we do next?"

She pondered for a bit.

There were several options. We could do missions that were at, or below, our ranks. These missions included a variety of tasks, from guarding to acquiring specific items. We could also transport ourselves to the Beast Glades and explore while hunting down mana beasts. Or...

"Dungeon-exploring."Jasmine answered, a faint smile forming on her face.

We started walking to start finally our adventure but Ash was still behind.

"What are you waiting for Ash come on let's go!"

"O-okay!" He said with a smile.

Placing my adventured card inside Amaya, we officialy started our adventurer life in order to make names for ourselves.
