Party- part 3

"Is everything alright here?"

Gwen turned her head to the side and saw Ethan standing there with a frown on his face. She looked at Johnny, confused, and back to Ethan. Wans't Ethan with Darla?

"Why wouldn't it be?" Johnatan asked, with a cynic smile on his lips. One that she couldn1t see, since she was looking at Ethan.

"Gwen seems to be unwell.' He said. "Did you say something to upset her?" Ethan answered. They were in the middle of the dance floor, and Gwen noticed that they were starting to drag attention.

"I am ok, Mr. Lennox." Gwen said to Ethan. "But thank you for your concern."

"Yes, Mr. Lennox." Johnatan said. "It is very gentlemanly of you. Quite impressive, I'd say, considering how you were talking to Gwen when I first met her."

Ethan squinted his eyes at Johnatan. The fucker called Gwen by her given name. Who the fuck he thought he was to be so intimate with her? Was he thinking he would sleep with her? Only in his dreams!

"it is something between her and me. You wouldn't understand, since you are nothing to her. You have no attachment or any kind of relation with her more than, maybe, acquaintance."

People were looking at them and Gwen cleared her throat.

"Stop it, Ethan!" She asked, under her breath. Gwen was very nervous, but Ethan had his eyes glued in Jonathan.

"I am more to her than you ever were, Mr. Lennox. A signed paper means nothing." Johnny asked and looked around. "If you want to continue to argue, we can go somewhere else, away from those people. Gwen is uncomfortable, can't you see it?"

Ethan looked at her and, indeed, she didn't look quite well. He raised his hand and grabbed her arm.

"I'll finish this conversation with her. And yes, as you said, a signed paper means nothing. I believe you were referring to our divorce, right? And so, you thought you would be able to make advances toward her. But I do not agree with that!"

Johnny narrowed his eyes at Ethan and pulled Gwen closer to him, as if motioning for her to leave the dance floor. But Ethan followed them, without letting go of her arm.

"That's enough, the both of you!" She said and tried to free herself from their grasps.

"What is happening?" Janet approached with am ugly face.Johnatan let go of Gwen, for he didn't want to hurt her. "Let her go, Ethan Lennox!"

"Ethan, please…" Gwen asked in a low voice, looking around. He looked deep into her eyes and freed her.

Once she was free, Gwen looked at Janet and turned around, heading to the restroom. Janet, of course, understood and followed her.

"You don't have to come, Jan. I need to be alone." Gwen's voice was already choked.

"No, Gwen! Do you want to leave?" Janet asked. "I'll go with you." She meant it. And if Augusto said no, she would leave him there. Gwen knew that very well. Janet was a loyal friend.

"No! I don't want to spoil your party." Gwen was trying not to cry. Ethan ruined everything! She was having a nice time, after all, and he just approached to disturb her! Wasn't it enough he had Darla as his partner that night, in front of everyone?

"Gwen…"

"Please, Jan. Just…"

Janet knew better when to give her friend a bit of space. She nodded.

"I'll wait for you at the table, ok? Anything, call me." After Gwen agreed to it, Janet left and entered the restroom, going to one of the cabins.

Darla saw everything and , as much as she could not hear what they were saying, she saw when Gwen walked away and, later, when Janet got back without the slut. She rose from her seat and said she had to go to the restroom for a while. She passed by Ethan, who didn't even cast a glance in her direction. It infuriated her even more.

Gwen took a deep breath and opened the cabin, just to be dumbfounded by a hard slap on her face that made her fall to the wall.

"What the hell?" She asked, cupping her cheeks and looking ahead, just to see a red faced Darla. "Have you lost your mind?"

"Stay away from Ethan! he is mine!" she yelled.

"You can stay with him, I don't care! And if you are so worried, keep him under your leash, and prevent him from bothering me!"

"You keep going after him!" Darla stumped her foot on the floor, in a fit.

"Me?" Gwen asked, chuckling. "I was dancing with my date!"

"I know you! You are a little slut that can't seen to keep your hands to yourself. You were alluring him, I know it! Why did you come, in the first place?"

Darla was breathing fast, clearly furious. Gwen composed herself and raised her chin, before she answered the woman in front of her.

"Ethan Lennox was my husband when you got in the way and became his mistress. Now, two years later, you are still having to chase him? This is not my fault, Miss Cooper. Now, please, get out of the way. Tell your partner to leave me alone and everything will be just fine. If he is your boyfriend, fiancé, whatever, don't worry. I am not you. I am not a homewrecker."

With that, Gwen pushed Darla to the side. The woman was so astonished by Gwen's words that had no reaction.

Gwen was heading back to the table, when a hand grabbed her and pushed her to the side. She felt her back pressed against the wall and, before she could ask anything, warm lips covered hers, not gently, but with possessiveness.
