Me, My Friends And I

(3rd person P.O.V.)

A story as any other it may start, but still a great one to tell.

A girl, teenage girl at that. Dirty blond hair, blue eyes and freckled cheeks. The name of this girl is Maddie Anderson. Yes, the normal girl you would see walking on the street, nothing special. Until you meet her friends and have fun together. Only then she may fall as special in your eyes, but I'll let you judge for yourself.

(Maddies P.O.V.)

"Wakey, wakey, Sunshine!" I exclaimed happily as I strolled over to my brothers bed. I know for a fact that nobody likes to be awakened with loud noise, but I was just in a silly mood.

"What the heck do you want, Maddie?" Chris grumbled in his mroning voice, as he tried opening his eyes to the bright light which was coming in from the window. Chris is my twin brother, we were identical twins, same sky blue eyes and same fluffy, dirty blond hair. I was a few minutes older than him, but Chris likes to remind me that I'm the shorter twin.

Outside was amazing weather and we had planned on hanging out with my friend group. Chris was a part of it too, though he probably didn't want to admit it. It was the beginning of summer, so I made it my mission to spend as much time with my friends.

"Come on, get your lazy ass up, Sunshine! We have places to be and you agreed to come along!" I turned around ad skipped happily out of his room, while he just continued on cursing me and himself out, because he himself agreed to come along with me.

I did my morning routine and so di Chris. We ate breakfast and soon enough we took our bikes, waved goodbye to our parents and started cycling to my best friends house. She didn't live that far from me, but it was harder to get to her with a bike than with a car.

After 15 minutes we had reached her small house and she was already standing by her parnets green car with her baby blue bike.

"Heeeyyy, Janee!" I shouted excitedly and smiled brightly as me and Chris drove up to her.

"Heyy, Mads!" She said and hugged me as I launched myself on her right after getting off my bike.

Jane Singh, my best friend since first grade. She is the person I tell everything to and make new friends together with. She has sholder lenght, dark brown hair with a few blond highlights, green eyes and was taller than me. I'm the short friend of the group, so everybody I'm friends with is taller than me by a few inches, which can suck, because more often than not, I'm 'the armrest' as a joke to some.

"Hi, Chris!" Jane said after hugging me. Chris was still on the bike, turned it around, so he was ready to ride to the city. He looked up from his phone and his eyes met Jane and me. "Hey, Jane. We ready to go?" He asked and waited for our response.

Chris is almost the opposite of me. I'm always smiling and laughing around, making jokes and having an outgoing personality, but Chris mostly keeps to himself and doesn't make as many jokes, though he has his moments when he just makes sarcastic jokes. In school I am the one keeping to myself around class, but Chris is the outgoing one in his class with his group of friends. Though I'm the clown of the group, I can get in the mood where I want to make fun of my friends sometimes, not being completely mean, but not holding back either. I want to believe that I make all of them laugh a lot and smile, so that's what I do.

"Yeah let's go!" I said got on my bike and started riding with Jane and Chris right behind me. I have a lot of energy most of the time, so I was in front. I can start riding my bike really fast, so I didn't want to bump into them. Jane was behind me and Chris was at the back since we rode on a road full of cars.

We took some turns off the highway and on to a dirt road, where no one really drives. It was fun to drive there with a bike, becasue of the small hills you could ride down on full speed. Me and Chris took the chance to do that, but not Jane. She was afraid and chose to slowly ride down, sometimes even getting off her blue bike and just walk down with her bike. I didn't understand that, but I didn't say anything. Chris made some funny lines about it whilst I just laughed at them and wtched Jane just mock us about it.

Finally we got to the city and rode to our meet up point with the rest of our friends. The meet up point is an ice cream shop, where one of our friends work over the summer and sometimes even after school over the year. Her name is Amy Caddel, the party girl of the group. When you need something, she will have it, if you know what I mean. She has long blond hair and light blue eyes, witha round face. I also have known her since first grade, though our friendship officially started in 5th or 6th grade, she still is one of my closest friends now.

We drove up to the ice cream shop and secured our bikes. In the shop, we sat at one of the booths and waited for Amy to show up. She was already here working, but my guess is somewhere in the backrooms.

It was quiet in the shop, but I needed to fill the silence, it was getting a bit awkward, especially between Jane nd Chris. There was something between them, and everyone wanted them to see it, but they really are too blind for that, or just not ready for that yet.

"So what's the plans for today?" I asked in hopes of starting a conversation, and it worked.

"Well you were the one who dragged me out here, so think for yourself." Chris commented and sat up so his back was resting against the chair, his arms crossed.

"Yeah, Maddie you wanted to meet up, so what are we going to do?" Jane continued on Chris's comments. I rolled my eyes, not appreciating their efforts.

As if on cue, Amy walked in and spotted us in one of the booths.

"Heyy, people! My free time will begin soon, but right now what do you all want? Drinks?" Amy offered and got out her notebad and pencil to write it all down.

I ordered a chocolate milkshake, Jane ordered the same, but Chris wanted a vanilla milkshake. Amy wrote it all down and strolled back behind the counter and into the kitchen to give the order.

After a few minutes we got our milkshakes and as always they were just delicious.

I slurped my milkshake and kept thinking on what we could do today. Then I remembered that Anne still hasn't made it to our spot.

"Jane, has Anne texted, where is she?" I asked curious as to why is she late, because usually she is just as excited to come and spend time with us as I am.

Anne Hendrix, another one of my close friends, she is the pessimistic girl of our group. Long blond hair, with bleached ends, grey eyes, enjoys basketball and acts like the basic girly girl. We all love her, but she is also the one who gets pranked the most, which does not make her happy at all.

"Now that you mention it, yeah she did text, she's late and will get here in about 15 minutes." Jane answered looking through her messages.

"Well good to know she didn't ditch us, because then we would have found what to do this day." I said with a laugh.

"Exactly! The girl would have gotten an earful from us and we would have dragged her with us!" Jane said with raised eyebrows, because nobody is ditching on us, especially her.

"I wouldn't have cared if she came or not." Chris chimed in casually. I laughed and so did Jane.

"We know!"

After a while, Anne had finally joined us and Amy had a free time, so we all took our bikes and drove around the city.

We eneded up driving through some woods to a lake with a wooded dock. We sat on the dock and I tried dipping my feet in the water. It was cold to the touch at first, but my feet got used to the coldness quickly.

Chris made a move to make me fall in the water, I squealed in surprise, but held on to the wood planks to not get thrown in the cold water. It was only the beginning of summer, so the water wasn't warm enough yet to swim in it.

Anne laughed and got up to save me, so she started pulling Chris by his arm and they started play fighting, Chris took some water in his palms and tried throwing it on Anne, she almost screamed from surprise and coldness, and ran away to the shore.

She came back with a stick and threw it at Chris, who ducked, but ran to the shore with Anne, where they continued on with their shenanigans.

I giggled, but realised that Jane and Amy were still sitting here with me.

I looked over at Jne and she looked down at the water angrily. I sighed, Amy looked at me and Jane and she understood what was happening.

Jane really liked Chris and has liked him for a while now. From the way that Chris looks at her, I can tell that there really is something between them, but they both are probably terrified of rejection to gather the courage to say anything, we all have been there.

"Come on, Jane, just confess already! You won't regret it, I promise!" I tried to lighten the mood. Jane looked up from the water and sighed looking back at them. "You don't know that, he probably doesn't even see me that way."

"Stop that, Jane! If he doesn't see you in that way, then he is just stupid, let's be honest." Amy said, trying to help.

"She's right, I mean look at you, you look amazing, you can cook, you're smart, maybe not math, but still smart." Jane hit my arm slightly, I laughed, but at least she smiled.

"Okay let's stop wasting our thoughts on guys, we need to plan this summer to be the best summer of our lives!" I exclaimed and we all started thinking about where we could go and what things should we enjoy this summer. Jane made a bucket list on her phone, while I sticked to my pen and a notebook.

Finally when Anne and Chris came back, Anne looked mad and dirty, but Chris looked amused.

"What happened to you?" I asked trying not to laugh at Anne and so did Amy, but Jane just didn't care and laughed out loud.

"It's not funny, he pushed me and fell in mud and then on top of that, Chris started throwing more water on me!" Anne explained whilst pointing her well manicured nails at Chris who started laughing too. "Well you shouldn't have started what you couldn't finish." Anne looked raging mad at Chris after his comment and all of us found that amusing.

After some time it was starting to get late and we decided to get home. We took our bikes and started cycling back to the city, where we said goodbye to Anne, who still was a bit mad, but not that much. Then we four started cycling back through a dirt road and on to a highway, where there weren't many cars at that point.

We said goodbye to Jane, and then Amy, who lived close to Jane. Then me and Chris cycled back home. I'm glad that there aren't any dogs around, who can break free from chains or just run around, so we can calmly aome and go. We lived in a small neighbourhood with small amount of neighbours around.

When we got home, I decided to take a shower to wash off all the sweat and dirt. then I went outside to read a book.

"Hey, hon, how was your day?" Mom came outside and asked, interrupting my reading session.I looed up and smiled. "Oh, it was awesome and a lot of fun! I hope we can make our whole summer like this, we already have a ton of ideas."

"That's great, Maddie! Well we too have some ideas, so maybe you can take some of your friends with us." She said with a small smile. My eyes lit up at the thought of driving somewhere with my best friends. Mom laughed and went back inside.

I sighed and tried to read my book, but the only thing that came to mind was the amazing adventures we all were going to share together.
