Edmund turned towards the doorway of his bedroom chambers as his father walked in with an awkward smile on his face.
"Can I come in?" Elric mumbled
"I don't know father, can you?"
Elric almost scoffed in amusement at Edmund's response, there was no doubt about it, this little boy had definitely grown under his care.
"MAY I come in?"
The boy put his quill down on his table and eyed his father before nodding. "I hear you drunk yourself towards amnesia father, does this mean you'll become a vegetable soon?"
"I sure hope not," Elric muttered as he sat down next to his supposed son.
"Is that why you deemed it appropriate to bring up my dead mother all of a sudden?" Edmund asked the man who gnashed his teeth uncomfortably.
"About that, Edmund I do apologize, I had no idea your mother was no longer with us."
