Sophia's POV
"Mum, what did Dad say?" I pretend not to have heard her. She would kill me if she knows that I'm aware she's a Vampire. At least, she can't kill me for noticing the sudden change in her eyeballs. Length and colour.
"Let's escape." She says, and grabs hold of my hand.
"Sure. But let's take the rear route." I tell her, and we lock the front door as we rush to flee through the back door.
Midway getting to the back door, the front door creaks open. Mum almost slumps as she faces back. She instinctively hurries into "Dis Kitchenette." Dis Kitchenette is the name given to her smallest kitchen. Talking of size. She hides behind a cabinet, and I lay flat beside her.
"Who was that?" I stifle a mutter.
"My mate." She says. "Mate..."
"Mate?" I ask, bewildered.
"Dylan is not my mate." She bends her head a little bit, and says.
"What are you talking about?" I ask her, normalizing my wrinkled forehead.
"Jude..." She mutters. "The smell is getting stronger."
