The Duel

"I accept" the king said with confidence. He lifted his sword. For a second, Daniel thought he was going to kill him. But the sword sliced through the rope easily. Lloyd, the assisstant had a concerned look on his face. He wasn't sure about this. The heroes looked at Daniel as if he was mad. "What are you doing, are you crazy?" cried Klara and Alicia in unison. "You can't back out now" he said with a smile. "I would love to kill you myself, the Destruction Lord would be pleased. He won't have to do any work!" he said. The confidence in his voice made Daniel doubt himself. 'Could I really beat him?' he thought.

"Your made to do this, but you better win" The voice was Catherine's. "Yeah, you better do this, Daniel" Dennis shouted. All the other heroes were standing there smiling at them, even though they were captured, their hands safely in titaniun locks. They even chained their legs together. They were making no mistakes.

"Come with me" King Malin said. Daniel had no choice but to follow him. "This is where you will die, and it will also be your grave..." he said, his face emotionless. A sword appeared in his hands. He was in complete concentration. Daniel took out the stone from his pocket. It was glowing a faint purple. The stone transformed into Sciodes. The staff felt good in his hands. The dark purple liquid at the top glowed brighter than ever before. Daniel closed his eyes and took a deep breathe. He was going to finish this...

King Malin started to battle and ran towards Daniel with great speed. Daniel couldn't get too close. His advantage was long range. He ran to the far corner or the room and released a beam of purple energy. King Malin, who was surprisingly agile cut the beam of energy in half with ease. "Come on Daniel!" A voice from his friends said. Daniel didn't know who it was. 'He's good' Daniel thought. Daniel sent 2 balls of Dark Matter at the king but he dodged it like it was nothing. "My turn" he whispered. The king lifted his hands. Daniel realised what he was doing a second to late. The power he stole before...

The bolt of lightning electrocuted him. Steam filled half the room. King Malin was already on him before he could recover. The dust settled and a ball of pure electricity hit Daniel in the chest. Daniel coughed and tried to send another wave of Dark Matter at his opposition. But it missed him. The staff was flung away and landed somewhere else. "Daniel, no" Daniel didn't know who it was. He thought it might've been Myra. Daniel managed to look up from the ground. It was. Myra was on the floor, crying. Alicia was trying to comfort her, but the grasp of the soldiers were too strong, she couldn't do anything.

Daniel gritted his teeth with pain. His stomach hurt like never before. But Daniel knew the trruth. Daniel smiled, she was the only one who knew... For some reason, Daniel felt... relieved. He tried the best her can. He was staring at the ceiling. Then the king's head came into view. "Your dead!" the King cried and the blade came down onto his heart.

Daniel wasn't think anymore. He was in a trance again. A man appeared in front of him. "Fight" he said. Daniel recognised the man. He was the one that gave him Sciodes. The word seemed to wake Daniel up. At the last second, Daniel, put his hand to the side and called Sciodes. The staff responded to his command and came into his hand. Shadow-telekinisis. He knew what his new ability was called. At the last second, his staff blocked the powerful attack. King Malin growled in frustration...

Meanwhile, the other heroes saw what what happening. "He unlocked a new ability" Klara cried. Then, something glowed in their pocket. Their special stones started to glow different colours. Orange, dark blue, white, brown, Grey and light blue. They took the stones out. Energy flooded through them. "So this is how Daniel felt" Dennis said with glee. The stones transformed into weapons corresponding to their elemental power.

Dennis held a hammer that was on fire. He waved it around. He didn't feel the heat but everyone else around him did. Klara was holding a knife, glowing dark blue with a razor sharp blade. Alicia held a dagger that could extend outward. She stared at it with amazement. Igor had a cutless, like the pires used. "Cool" he said, smiling. Harold had a huge axe. Everyone wondered how Harold could hold something so heavy. But the axe was suited to his weight. Catherine was holding a bow. She took the arrow that was inserted inside. The bow appeared inside the holder a few seconds later. "Cool" she said. Myra was holding something the shape of a thunderbolt. "It's a boomerang she cried. A slot appeared on her backpack. Edger was holding a nunchuck. He spun it round and the heroes could see wind starting to form. Bonnie wasn't holding anything. Her stone dissappeared. But when she took a step forward, she did it with extreme speed. "A speed boost" she cried with joy.

The guards were hypnotised by what just happened. Igor broke everyone's handcuff and freed their legs in a matter of seconds. The heroes threw themselves at the guard. Dennis wiped 5 guards out with a single blow. Alicia and Klara took turns stabbing the guards. Catherine shot a few arrows at one of the guards legs. They cried in pain. "Don't worry Daniel, we're coming to help" Dennis shouted, turning around. All the guards were either dead other seriously injured. "No" came the response. "I'll finish him on my own" Dennis was confused but nodded. He knew he had a score to settle. The heroes' weapons returned to their stone form all excpet Myra's. She out hers in the slot on her backpack.

Daniel watched all of this unfold and smiled. 'Time to get rid of this nuisance' he thought to himself. He pushed the sword away. A blinding light made King Malin stagger away. When the light dimmed, instead of the staff, a sleek black sword was in its place. It glimmered in the room. The heroes did a round of applause. Even King Malin was mesmerized. But he shook out of it. "I refuse to let you win" he cried and charged.

The sword glided forward at light speed. Daniel gripped the sword perfectly and he brought it and held it out front, blocking the king from getting close. King Malin tried to knock it away but the sword was as hard as stone. It was made from titaniun and Dark Stone, one of the strongest material on earth. Daniel swung it round and attacked making a line of blood form on the king's arm. "HOW DARE YOU!!" he screamed and ran forward. But that was his mistake. The sword turned back into the staff and Daniel hit it on the floor once. He started to lift up in a matter of a millisecond. King Malin watched in horror as the staff turned back into a sword and Daniel twisted round and stabbed it with great ferocity into the King's chest...
