"Now that we got to know you, it's time for my favourite part of the show SPOTLIGHT!!!" Kelvin stated with excitement in his tone as the Iconic spotlight intro played. The SPOTLIGHT session of the show is basically what it sounds like shining a light on the artist.

This section of the show is for singers and rappers to freestyle on an instrumental. They added this part of the show once they hit mainstream radio and started getting rappers to come on their show. Some freestyles went viral helping elevate their career to a whole new level. Now it was Rakim's turn to prove he's got enough skills to back up the hype.

"You better bring your A game bro," JJ said with a smile, taking a quick sip from his coconut cup, and pressing a button that made sound effects throughout the room. "You bet fam just drop the beat," Rakim replied with a confidant smirk ready for the challenge, especially since it's the reason he came on the show.

Straightening his headphones Rakim leaned forward adjusting the mike in front of him. He nodded at the DJ indicating for him to play a beat for him to rhyme on. He didn't have to wait long as the intro of the beat started playing in the room and his headphones. He instantly recognised the corresponding song as it was sung by the white boy himself B- Rabit.

Bopping his head he started contemplating what words to use since this wasn't his typical flow. The instrumental of the song is still something you would hear in the era before rap became mainstream. He didn't have to think hard as Rex seemingly made lyrics appear in his mind. They discovered this when Rakim was fretting over the possibility of forgetting words to his songs.

Rex could seemingly remember every song word for word and could project it into Rakim's mind. So when words appeared in his mind he didn't bother questioning them trusting Rex completely since they had laid out their career plan.

"Up-down left-right cheat code that nigga," Rakim spoke into the mike as soon as the base dropped catching everyone off guard. Kelvin's mouth was practically hanging wide open in surprise not expecting his words at all.

Although the rhythmic beat of Just Lose It is completely different from the song First Day Out, he could at least try to rap instead of this nonsense. "hahah, bro I said Up-down left-right cheat code that nigga boy,"

"That means I got cheat codes gun sing like the leader of the Glee show, babe want a cape no I'm not a hero, VVS cold no sub-zero getting money like Robert De Niro, fuck with me you get jack like sparrow, I put you out your sorrow you won't live to see tomorrow, Shoot in your Monte Carlo my shoes they cost your cardinal, I am not trying to Brag but you know I got the cuatro the paso,"

"I ain't feeling this beat," Rakim suddenly said after a whole fifty seconds of spazzing on the beat and getting everyone to bop along to his words. His ability to take on a different flow surprised everyone, especially Chloe his agent who had a worried look on the other side of the glass.

When they had received various offers for different interviews she was quite surprised that Rakim picked this one. After all, this was one of the only two shows that required their guest to freestyle. Depending on the outcome of the freestyle it could ruin all the momentum he had built up with the release of First Day Out.

However, she relented upon her client's assistance in establishing himself as a talented rapper. He still had to prove his ability to her with a couple of YouTube beats. Still, she had not expected to witness what she had just seen. Although it was only for 50 seconds she got another glimpse of his future potential.

As long as she manages to keep him alive from all the dangers that come with the business, he will be a household name. One thing that worries her is the fact that she found out that someone placed a hit on him. She has full knowledge of his past but the fact that someone is actively putting money out to kill her client is not something she has ever dealt with.

When she confronted him about it his only answer was that he would handle it. He even told her to stay out of it, something about not mixing his business with the trenches. Ignoring all that mess his ability to deliver on his promise live on national radio reaffirmed her idea of betting on him.

She does not have a special ear for music but possesses a keen sense when it comes to gauging someone's potential. That has allowed her to become a shark in the modelling and Film industry. Trusting her gut has been her go to ever since her first client wich is the main reason she chose to take a risk on Rakim.

Although her niece asked for her help, she would have passed him on to one of her proteges if she didn't get that feeling upon their first meeting. The nervous tingle of someone's ambition backed up by their existing talent is a well-practiced formula. What she felt from him that day was an absolute certainty that he would succeed with or without her.

"You sure you bro I forgot to breathe once you started spitting fire," JJ asked with a flabbergasted expression plastered on his face. His question perfectly voiced everyone's thoughts not believing how good he was on a beat he didn't like.

"Yh gimme something newer bro," Rakeim replied with a light smile making eye contact with the DJ indicating for him to drop another beat. It took him three different snippets of beats until Rakim finally liked one. Although this annoyed Kevin lightly since none of their guests had ever dared to pass on beats, but he didn't interrupt after the verse Rakim had just dropped.

The instrumental that Rakim finally settled at was one of Soulja Boy beats from his song called "She Make It Clap". It was released a year ago and was carried by the artist fan base to 16 million views despite lacking in the lyrical department. If Kelvin was being honest he does not understand why Drako chose this beat.

The rhythmic instrumental reminiscent of Soulja's upbeat style started playing in the speaker as Drako closed his eyes for a second. His head bopped up and down for a second until he finally opened his mouth to speak. "My agent should really be charging you for what's about to happen," He stated with a smile leaving everyone flabbergasted by his confidence as to what he was about to deliver.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, uh,

Smokin' on packs, preferably Black Leprachaun

All of these hoes, they on my arm

All of these bitches, they know I'm a don

Stuntin' on the bitches come back to the 6s

I spit 3s like I'm playin' with the 6s,"

He delivered his first four bars so effortlessly but somehow his delivery remained on point. Everyone watching live and listening on their radio was left stunned by his bars. Having heard the original song which lacked bars and now hearing him spazz on a beat stunned everyone. Before they had time to compute what was happening his nest line reeled their attention back in.

"Bad bitch like she playin' with the mixes

Bad bitches keep playin' with my jig, uh

Bad bitch wanna get on my Insta

I told the bitch to keep chill and be quiet

I got bad bitches tryna get by

Don't chill 'fore a nigga get violent

I got bad bitches and they comin' wildin"

He continued to rap slightly picking up the pace of his delivery as the beat's tempo increased. JJ on the side was practically wildin in his chair giving a genuine reaction as he listened to Rakim spit. It was all he could do to remain on his throne and not interrupt Rakim.

"Ayy, I see a motherfucker smilin'

20,000 bad bitches on an island

20,000 bad bitches goin' private, mmm

She make it clap, I got the strap

21 gats, feel like I'm Savage

21 bitches and none of them average"

At this point in the freestyle, everyone listening was just vibing and enjoying the music. Chloe on the other side of the glass had at some point pulled out her phone to record this scene for herself. She could already see this going viral just from how effortlessly he was rapping. to further build her client's brand in the music industry.

The fact that this was happening live was even better showcasing his ability to freestyle off the top. this will be a big boost to his brand in the music industry. It's as if he's saying that the hype is real and everyone better take notice.

"I'm gon' fuck me tonight me a bad bitch

I don't give a fuck about niggas

I don't give a fuck about hoes

I don't give a fuck 'bout your bros

I don't give a fuck 'bout your toes

Your hoes, your manicure, pedicure, toes"

"He's On Fire," the DJ's speaker explained acting as a perfect adlib grabbing everyone's attention for a second. That didn't last long though as Rakim continued rapping looking as if he wouldn't stop any time soon. He continued spitting abruptly changing his flow with a more measured one as the beat started to slow down.

"I'm comin' on the block with the rocks

20 inch Glocks in my socks

Niggas keep blowin' that crazy ass shit

If I go to jail I'ma keep it locked in the sock

I got that from Ken, all of my hoes, they spend

On me all at the mall, I'm bendin' Benzes

20 inch rims on my Enzos

Bitches is coming to the mall and they goin' in frenzies

Lookin' at Drako, look at my story

All of these bitches they look at me growin' up fast like a nigga was 40

I don't even know what I'm sayin' but tonight I'm 'bout to take y'all bitches and have me an orgy"
