"Miss, did you not get any other vehicle to pull your stunt?" A man asked as he rolled down the window, peeking out.
"H-hey, I am not at fault." She complained while getting up and dusting her clothes.
"Then am I at fault for driving in the right lane?" He asked and Lorene looked around to find that she was almost in the middle of the road.
"Fuck." She cursed to herself before turning back to the man who was now honking.
"Please move from there. My boss is getting late." The driver said again as he waited for her to move.
"S-sorry." She apologized before moving out of the way, only to realize that she had hurt her leg pretty bad.
A sharp pain shot up from her ankle to her thighs that she stumbled and fell on her knees. The driver seemed to be in a hurry because he quickly got out of the car and dragged her to the side of the road.
"Hey, what the heck? I am injured. A-are you aghh blind or what?" She cried. holding onto her leg.
"I am really sorry but I have to rush now. You can call me later for compensation." He said, throwing his card at her.
"Excuse me? I can't even walk a step from here and it is your responsibility." She slammed her hands on the car without moving.
"Gosh!" The driver muttered as he looked back into the car to check if his boss was going to be mad.
"Where is your boss? Ask him to come out and apologize to me." She said sternly.
"Are you sick? I am the one at fault and I am sorry, don't drag him into this." The driver was worried that she would create a bigger mess.
"The car belongs to him, mister." Lorene was desperate because people really think that the poor would suffer everything that the rich threw at them.
At least she needs to keep up her self-respect. She was not going to back up unless she gets what she wants. As in cue, the back window of the car rolled down a bit and something fell to the road. She squinted her eyes and followed the action only to get shocked. A pile of notes, laying on the road with no care.
"T-take it and please leave." the driver hurriedly picked up the money and shoved it into her hands.
"W-what? This much?" She asked, her size double the usual.
"If this is not enough, just contact me. I beg you to please let us go, miss." He said, pushing her off before running back to the car.
She stared at the car which just dashed off and then at the bundle of notes in her hands. It was a huge amount as she could see and it could be used to cover Sienna's tuition fee for an entire year. She couldn't believe what all could happen in a span of a few minutes. She had her leg injured but the money was almost a hundred times worth it.
"Rich people really have a way of showing off." She huffed before pushing the money into her bag.

.
"Have you reached there?"
"In five minutes, uncle. I am literally right around the corner." She spoke into her phone while trying to run with her injured leg.
"If you are being this irresponsible on your first day, I can't give any promises." He groaned at her.
"I am s-so sorry. I just met with an accident and w-was caught up there for some time." She explained.
"Do you think that is an excuse for them? It is not like they are dying to give you a job so fucking run." He ended the call without any further words.
"No one would care even if I die, I know that." She sighed before shoving the phone down her pocket and running to the building which her uncle addressed.
Lorene was determined to get the job no matter what because she knows this one job could clear all her problems. The person whom she called uncle was her distant relative who left the city two days after her parents died because he apparently didn't want to take responsibility.
"Please be with me today." She closed her eyes and prayed before walking inside.
The building was so huge that she wondered how her uncle would even know anyone in there to recommend her. It was a medical company as far as she researched about it but she also read that the company was just one of the group's business. 'The Wang', that is what everyone called them, they migrated from China almost a century ago and are now the leading business in Japan.
"Good morning." She spoke as she bowed at the lady in the reception while eyeing around the massive lounge.
"Yes, ma'am. What can I do for you?" She asked politely.
"Actually, I u-umm... I have a letter to show." Lorene said as she picked up a folded letter from her sling bag and produced it to the lady.
"Let me just check it, ma'am."
"Thank you." Lorene was now not so confident because the people working there seemed to be spending a fortune on their appearances.
"Is my uncle trying to embarrass me or something?" She asked herself.
"Oh, ma'am.... let me help you to the office room." The lady said as she was done reading the letter.
"T-thankyou." 'Was it this easy' she asked herself again but anyways decided to trust the process.
"Mei, please take ma'am to the interview hall. Also, please give this letter to the office so she can get the priority." The lady at the reception called another staff and handed over the letter.
"Okay." Mei smiled as she turned to Lorene.
"Ma'am, this way please. We have to go to the fifth floor for your interview and let me help you with it." She welcomed Lorene.
Little did Lorene knew what was awaiting her.
