Chapter 3: Reunion

They were both dumbfounded when they found out that they were roommates. The key is labeled 404 and 405 which is located on the 4th floor leading to one room. They are on the east wing of the apartment building. Maverick is not very troubled by this because he is used to living with his childhood friend which is a girl at his age. Cassie on the other hand is fidgeting from embarrassment.

"I'm gonna be living with you? HOLD ON WE JUST MET, I WON'T SLEEP WITH YOU." Cassie said while punching Maverick

"Hey hey. It's not my fault besides, inside the room there are 3 separate rooms." Maverick said while he caught Cassie's hands. The grip made Cassie calm down for a while. They opened the apartment. Inside there is a hologram table, a pantry, 3 couches, 3 bathrooms, and a big kitchen.

Maverick can't help but wonder, why are there 3 rooms but they are the only ones here. Maverick sat on the couch and opened his new tablet. He scrolled on his favorite website where he reads manga. Rita always leaves her manga everywhere in the house. On the couch, the bathroom, and even in the washing machine which sparked Maverick's interest

Maverick saw that the manga has 3 new chapters. He knows that the author usually updates once a day. He saw that the date is 3 days ahead of what he knows. He searched the web for possible answers and stumbled upon an article.

It is stated that way portals use time-shifting to travel around. Most modern way portals only take 3-7 days for the person to travel from one place to another (Depending on distance).

"I'm gonna occupy this room, DO NOT ENTER WITHOUT MY PERMISSION." Cassie entered the room on the far right of the apartment. It is between the bathroom and the kitchen which is a good spot.

Maverick took an interest in the room near the door. Maverick always sneaks out at night to party or to go to his favorite spot alone. Maverick approached the room and open the room. It was surprisingly spacious and the bed is big. Shelves on the walls and a table, it was perfect for him. He stayed in his room for the whole day, around midnight he heard footsteps in the kitchen. He thought it was Cassie but a notification from his tablet shocked him.

[Cass: Do you hear that?]

[Rick: I thought that was you]

[Cass: NO WAY! IM STILL UNPACKING]

[Rick: Hold on let me check]

Rick grabbed a pillow and opened his door slowly. He saw a human figure opening the cabinets in the kitchen, he slowly approach the figure and smacked his pillow on its head with great force.

"ITAI! NANI SHITE IRUNO?" The figure screamed. That voice is familiar to Maverick. He hastily opened the lights. A cat hoodie and dark purple hair, there is no denying it. It was Rita. The figure turned around and saw Rick's face.

" RICK-KUN WHY DID YOU DO THAT?" Rita cried. Maverick apologizes and Cassie opened her door. Maverick introduced Rita to Cassie. They were best friends on first contact, they are like twins. Cassie is a nervous girl and Rita is an outgoing type of girl, they are polar opposites but loves each other. Rita looks at me and points at my face.

"That is kind of edgy man but why are you wearing a mask?" Rita asked. Maverick touched his face and felt a hard metallic object on its face. He carefully examined it and saw a bright yellow mask that resembles an oni mask but with red stripes. Cassie saw it too and clapped.

"You managed to summon your mascara, that is impressive indeed but why is it only covering a quarter of your face, shouldn't they cover the whole face?"

Maverick does not know. The mask is slowly vanishing from thin air. Maverick was curious about his mascara so the whole night he researched mascaras. It was already morning and the lights on the hallway lit up and a ringing bell was heard from their rooms.

[Attention all students, please assemble at the front yard at 9:30 AM]

The lady on the speaker commands. Maverick was still wide awake but doesn't have a choice but to get ready. He reads the student manual.

2. Always be inside your room at curfew (12 am - 8 am)

3. Be respectful to the higher-ups

5. Unpermitted duels are prohibited on campus.

6. Stay loyal to MPA

7. Please wear your designated uniforms (If you don't have a uniform, refer to 7a)

7a. Go to floor 7 and enter the Uniform room and look for Ms. Norriel
