Chapter Twelve The Date that never was

She felt a cold touch on her hands, it was Aaron. she got annoyed at his persistence and he was beginning to annoy her, He dragged her by the hand till they reached the corner of a building where he let go of her hand.

She was fuming red and gave him a light slap, she complained as to why he would drag her like that in the midst of other students. He explained and said his friends and others were mocking her, so he had to take action for them to stop.

With teary eyes, she told him that she doesn't care what people say about her, left him standing and went to her dorm. Alicia was in the dorm when she came back and She had witnessed everything, When she saw Mary come into the room with tears, she came to her and hugged her, later on Mary decided to sleep in order to clear her head as she wasn't emotionally stable and couldn't read.

She woke up with a determination to avoid Aaron and erase him from her mind and memory. she wasn't able to read after classes, so in the evening when she woke up, she quickly left her room and went to the library. The library was huge and spacious, it had virtually all the books existing on the planet especially medical books. She arrived at the library and gave her i.d card to a librarian who asked for it, a library card would be created later but a means of identification for a new student was their I.D.

She entered the library, and saw humongous book shelves, e-book library's and numerous seats/cubes. the library was divided according to class, and the new students got the first floor and She located a vacant cube, opened it and sat down, surprisingly no one was judging her looks, and people were just minding their own business. She had taken two books from the library which were "Principle of the human body" and "Taxonomy as a science". She took out her note and laptop, and started reading. at the library there are metal walls used to differentiate between seats and the seats are called cube, each seat and table is a spacious cube which could be opened and closed. when a seat is in use, a screen displays the words "unavailable" and when not in use it displays "available".

She read for hours without feeling it because every cube has A/C, snacks, useful videos on the books picked and a time display.

She had read what was taught that day, and even read ahead on what will be done. When she was satisfied, she left the cube and bumped into someone she didn't expect,

it was Aaron again.

At this point she was so tired of him that she went back, and entered a vacant cube. surprisingly, he entered the cube she was in as He was clearly breaking the library rules but no one said anything. she was too shocked to talk, so she just froze and it seemed like no one was actually checking, if a student entered another students cube. He apologized, for everything thing he had done and for what he just did, in the most sincere way. he just wanted to be friends with her and couldn't stand others making fun of her,she calmly told him to get out of the cube, but he didn't.

he was on his knees, and she later forgave him when she knew his intentions were not bad. she also told him that she didn't care what people said and what she was here for was to read and become a doctor, he promised never to react like that again and she agreed to be friends with him, on the condition that he wouldn't behave like they were friends outside. they could only talk online and in a secluded place and he agreed.

They both laughed and planned a way to get out of the cube.

He went out first, and made sure no one saw him and then she went out. luckily no one saw them except.....
