The speed of the Dark Elf King, Malekith, was remarkable. While the spaceship of the Nine Realms scoured space in pursuit, Malekith had already reached the border of the Nine Realms.
However, on this day, Malekith's spaceship experienced violent turbulence.
A startled Malekith, still recovering from his burns, hurried to the command room of his spaceship.
"What in the world just happened?"
"Master Malekith, it's not clear yet. It seems we've been pulled into an extremely chaotic space. The space here is highly unstable. Our spaceship is trapped. We can't escape. It's pure chaos."
"Damn it."
Malekith's spaceship spun wildly in this chaotic space, akin to clothes caught in a washing machine.
All the occupants of Malekith's Dark Elf spaceship were tossed about.
After a tumultuous period, Malekith's spaceship regained stability thanks to the onboard systems.
The Dark Elves aboard the ship, however, were battered and bruised, their black armor disheveled, as if they'd weathered a storm.
Even Malekith, the Dark Elf King, felt dizzy from the universe's wild rotation.
Malekith inquired of the surviving Dark Elf crew members, who had secured themselves in the spaceship.
"Does anyone have an idea what just happened?"
Some Dark Elves were nauseous.
A few managed to suppress the urge to vomit.
"I'm not sure, Lord Malekith, but it appears we've entered a completely new space."
Malekith declared, "Patch in an external view. Let me see where we are. Quickly."
Malekith had fled Asgard and sought refuge beyond the Nine Realms, but he had lost his bearings in the process.
The image outside the spaceship was swiftly projected onto the screen in Malekith's command room.
The sight left all Dark Elves, Malekith included, utterly astonished. Instead of a barren wasteland, they were confronted with a beautiful, vibrant planet.
This world was adorned with lush vegetation, towering mountains, flowing waters, and vast open spaces. Numerous golden buildings adorned the landscape.
While these golden structures lacked the elegance of Vanir's architecture or the grandeur of Asgard's Temple, they still exuded an imposing presence, constructed primarily in shades of yellow and gold.
Malekith also noticed that the surroundings were teeming with people, all dressed in intricate golden attire. Most strikingly, each of them possessed pristine white wings with neatly arranged feathers.
Periodically, these winged beings unfurled their wings and assisted each other in grooming their feathers. Apart from the wings, they appeared mostly human.
Malekith was taken aback, recalling something important.
"My goodness, I think I know where we are. This must be heaven."
"Heaven?"
The Dark Elves were unfamiliar with this place, so Malekith proceeded to explain.
"In truth, the Nine Realms were not limited to just nine. The entire World Tree gave rise to ten realms, with heaven being the tenth."
"Everyone here has those white wings. However, many years ago, there was a conflict between God-King Odin and Heaven. The angels of Heaven harbored grievances, leading to a fierce war between the two sides."
"Yet, the Asgardians, under God-King Odin's command, were formidable. The Angel Legions of Heaven proved no match for them and suffered a devastating defeat."
"Countless angels perished at the hands of the Asgardians, and God-King Odin forcibly severed the connection between the World Tree and Heaven."
"Consequently, Heaven was exiled from the World Tree to a realm beyond, never to be seen again. For many years, people believed that Heaven had faded into the cosmos."
"I never expected Heaven to be here, on the fringes of the Nine Realms, due to this spatial turbulence."
The Dark Elf King Malekith recounted this historical information, leaving the surrounding Dark Elves in awe. The fierceness of the Aesir was far beyond their imagination. The angelic legions appeared far from feeble, yet they had been exiled by God-King Odin, effectively disconnecting Heaven from the World Tree.
A perceptive Dark Elf chimed in, "Lord Malekith, given the enmity between these angels and Asgard, could we not join forces with them to challenge the Asgardians? I believe that if we ally with them, the Aesir will be no match."
Dark Elf King Malekith nodded. Surtur, the Flame Giant King, had proven to be loyal to Asgard, leaving Malekith with few allies.
Excluding the Frost Giants, Fire Giants, Svartalfheim, the Underworld, and Asgard, there were few other options. The Vanir and Dwarves were already aligned with Asgard, and the Vanir gods did not favor the Dark Elves. Furthermore, the Dark Elf King's ultimate objective was to bring darkness back to the Nine Realms, an objective at odds with the Light Elves' principles.
"That's correct, the angels of Heaven could be a tremendous asset. We have certainly arrived in the right place this time."
"Lower the spaceship, and let's establish contact with these angels."
The Dark Elf King Malekith's spaceship descended rapidly, capturing the attention of many angels in Heaven.
Subsequently, the angels reported the situation, and numerous angels, adorned in golden armor, helmets bearing angelic wings, and wielding golden spears, quickly assembled.
With wings gracing their bodies, they had little trouble flying. They sported neatly arranged white feathers.
Malekith was rendered speechless.
Now, the leader of the Angel Legion approached him, a golden spear pointed in his direction.
"Who are you?"
A captain-level angel of the Angel Legion, sporting a helmet with two pairs of small wings, inquired as he pointed his golden spear at Malekith.
Dark Elf King Malekith responded, "Do not be alarmed, Heavenly friends. We are not here to invade your realm. I simply wish to speak with your Queen."
"What? You seek an audience with our Lady Queen? How is that even possible, you black and unsightly beings? I don't know who you are, but you would do well to leave Heaven immediately."
"Failure to comply will incur the wrath and punishment of Heaven."
The Dark Elf King Malekith furrowed his brow upon hearing these words. How dare these angelic beings call his Dark Elves ugly? The Dark Elves had spent much of their lives in darkness, which naturally affected their complexion. While their skin might be a few shades darker than the angels with their golden hair and fair skin, it certainly didn't justify such a derogatory term.
Nevertheless, Malekith restrained his anger. This was not the place to engage in conflict. He took a deep breath and continued.
"I am Malekith, the Dark Elf King. We share a common adversary in Asgard. Would you not like to seek retribution against Asgard? Please relay this to your Queen of Heaven."
"If she is interested, we can arrange a meeting and discuss our objectives. If your Queen declines, we shall leave promptly."
When Malekith made this proposal, the Angel Legion's leader appeared somewhat uncertain. Despite their long isolation in the chaotic space, the angels still had some knowledge of the other nine realms. They seemed to have heard of a world inhabited by Dark Elves.
One of the angels leaned in to speak quietly to the Angel Legion's leader, "Captain, this individual appears to be a Dark Elf. To be safe, let our Lady Queen know. If there's any misunderstanding, our Queen will bear the responsibility."
The leader of the Angel Legion nodded hesitantly. This paradise had been isolated from the outside world for thousands of years, and the decision to accept or reject outsiders was not within the authority of the Angel Legion leader.
The Angel Legion's captain conveyed, "Malekith, right? Very well, wait here for a moment. I will report to our Lady Queen."
The Dark Elf King Malekith was left momentarily bewildered.
The Angel Legion leader dispatched an angel warrior to report the situation to the Temple of Heaven, and soon they received a response from the Queen of Heaven, who invited Malekith to visit the temple.
With the Queen's consent, the angels dared not err. The Angel Legion captain informed Malekith of the Queen's decision.
"What, Malekith, our Lady Queen agrees to meet you. You may board your spaceship and follow us. The first team of our Thirty-seventh Angel Legion will escort you to our Temple of Heaven."
Malekith inquired, "Is the Heavenly Temple far from here?"
The Angel Squad captain replied with pride, "Of course. This is merely the outskirts of our Heaven. Our realm is vast. Traveling on foot would take quite some time."
Malekith wasted no time and boarded his spaceship to follow the angels. With hundreds of angels using their wings to fly, they quickly led the way to the Temple of Heaven.
During their journey, they passed mountains, plains, lakes, and oceans. Heaven boasted an abundance of natural resources and varied landscapes, closely resembling the realm of the Light Elves.
However, these angels appeared to favor gold, as their architecture and attire primarily featured shades of gold and white, with a dominant use of gold.
Malekith's spaceship maintained a decent pace, crossing a considerable distance to reach a city adorned with gold and white. This city served as the Temple of Heaven, the residence of the supreme leader of Heaven, the Queen of Heaven.
From a distance, the temple appeared entirely constructed of gold.
The angels' flight was swift, always leading Malekith's spaceship.
Before long, Malekith arrived at the Temple of Heaven. At the temple's entrance stood two rows of angel warriors with massive wings, their heavily armored bodies leaving only their eyes exposed.
These warriors exuded an aura of great strength.
Malekith proceeded down a long red carpet.
Inside the towering Temple of Heaven, he spotted a woman with a regal presence, donning feminine golden armor and boasting a pair of enormous white wings extending from her back.
Among the ten realms of the World Tree, she was the closest in image and temperament to an angel, and she was undoubtedly the Queen of Heaven.
The only deviation from his expectations was the Queen's personality. She had an arrogant disposition, lacking any gentle qualities.
Despite her lovely appearance and the majestic white wings, her temper was decidedly fiery.
Dark Elf King Malekith offered a slight bow to the Queen of Heaven, placing his hand on his chest.
"Greetings, great Queen of Heaven."
The Queen of Heaven nodded.
"Are you Malekith, the Dark Elf King?"
"Yes, I am."
