Chapter 72: The Orange Cat Is Hard to Remember

Is it really impossible for Washington to agree? Not necessarily.

Thor pondered to himself...

"By the way, I've already agreed to your first two conditions. Whatever the last one is, you must show some willingness to negotiate, right?"

When not discussing business, Nick Fury returned to his more humorous self.

"What are you implying? If you need any assistance, just ask. I'm happy to help with anything, even if it means eliminating someone."

Nick Fury: "..."

He began to question whether it was wise to bring this individual into the Avengers.

"I believe this world is more complex than it appears. Besides you and Captain Marvel, there must be other superpowered individuals I'm unaware of. Do you have any leads?"

Nick Fury asked with some hope. Given Thor's status as a superhuman and his decades of experience, he surely must know more.

Thor definitely knew a lot—about Wakanda, Kamar-Taj, and more. However, sharing this information was likely futile. If the Fury were to escape from his clutches, he might end up being discarded...

"Yes, I have some information."

"Who? Where?"

"Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff, is at my house."

"Will you let her go?"

"Not at all."

"Then tell me more! Are there any others?"

"Captain America, buried under the iceberg."

Nick Fury: "..."

He felt overwhelmed by a flood of headaches, despite years of experience as a senior agent...

"Say something more concrete and accessible."

"Tony Stark. You have access to him."

"..."

Contact is possible, but can this so-called genius who is more focused on partying and flirting discuss serious matters like the Avengers?

At this point, Stark was not the Iron Man of legend. Instead, he seemed like a spoiled child, far from useful!

Nick Fury suspected Thor was just toying with him...

As Thor was about to leave, Nick Fury stopped him again.

"Are you interested in taking care of an orange cat?"

Nick Fury had a psychological aversion to this cat, after all, he had only one eye left.

The reason he previously brought the cat to S.H.I.E.L.D. was mainly to find a way to retrieve the Tesseract from its stomach.

Unfortunately, extracting what the cat had consumed was akin to searching for a needle in a haystack.

Reaching in to retrieve it or forcibly cutting open the cat's stomach?

Nick Fury felt that the Flerken would not mind swallowing him, considering its small size.

Desperate, he decided to hand the orange cat over to Thor, hoping he might find a way to extract the Tesseract and then return it.

If Thor knew what Nick Fury was thinking, he would simply say—you're overthinking it!

Thor returned to the manor with the Flerken in his arms. The adorable orange cat quickly attracted the attention of all the women in the household.

Fortunately, Thor confirmed the orange cat was female; otherwise, he might have felt jealous...

Gugu, the Devourer of Worlds, strongly opposed being treated like a pet by a group of women. It decided to resist, much like it did against that black-skinned rogue.

The orange cat raised its paw, ready to claw at them, when Hela glanced over with a cold, unfeeling stare. The two—one person and one cat—locked eyes...

"Meow!!!"

A terrified yowl erupted, and the poor Flerken gave up resisting, laying down to endure...

What a terrifying woman, this family is frightening!

That night, Hela demonstrated once again the harsh realities of their society.

"Meow!!!"

A half-eaten fish, with exposed bones and glowing faintly green eyes, was hopping around on the floor...

As a Flerken, Goose's intelligence was far beyond that of an ordinary orange cat. She stared at the skeletal fish in shock, feeling her stomach churn.

"Ugh..."

Unfortunately, the Flerken' stomach was connected to another space, so it couldn't actually vomit. After several attempts, a "bang" occurred, and a cube emitting a faint blue light was expelled from its mouth...
