Chapter 153: The Elevator Door Incident

"Alright, Hulk, you'll hurt yourself if you hit again. Next time, I'll take you to Asgard for some more training."

Thor rescued Loki, whose face was swollen like a pig's head, from Hulk's grasp, and Hulk grinned contentedly.

"Now we need to discuss what to do with the scepter and the Tesseract."

Thor shook the scepter in his hand. "If no one else wants it, I'll take it back to Asgard for safekeeping."

"Leave it to us."

An upright-looking agent entered with a team of fully armed agents and said, "S.H.I.E.L.D. will take good care of the scepter."

Natasha whispered to Thor, "Be cautious. Pierce, the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director, is now the Secretary-General."

"You should be careful. This thing can make you lose consciousness just by touching it."

Clint Barton carefully picked up the scepter from the ground and placed it into the box held by the Sitwell agent behind Pierce.

"I assure you, it will be kept safe."

Pierce nodded in satisfaction and glanced at the Tesseract in Thor's hand. "Everything is here. The Tesseract has belonged to S.H.I.E.L.D. since World War II. I hope it can be returned to its original owner."

"Continuing to make weapons, Secretary Pierce?"

Stark's tone was disapproving. "I think this needs to be reconsidered; otherwise, this disaster could repeat itself."

Thor nodded and said meaningfully, "The Tesseract can be handed over to you. But remember, it's not powerful weapons that truly protect the Earth—it's warriors.

Overall, I need to take Loki with me. He is a prisoner of Asgard, and only Odin can judge him."

Stark and the others nodded in agreement.

A gleam of calculation flashed in Alexander Pierce's eyes. He clearly had other intentions. He nodded slowly and said, "You're right. I promise we won't use it to make weapons again."

Since this energy can make weapons, why not use it to create warriors?

Natasha eyed Thor with suspicion—when did he become so accommodating?

Even with Nick Fury, who is a friend, Thor would have demanded numerous conditions.

But wisely, Natasha said nothing.

"Leaving the scepter behind is for them to create Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in Sokovia. Why hand over the Tesseract to the other party?"

Miss System asked.

"Don't worry. I'll ensure they give the Tesseract to me. Then they'll have to keep it hidden."

"Why do I get the feeling you're doing this for some devious fun?"

"By the way, to achieve a certain goal..."

Alexander left satisfied, leaving Sitwell and the others to manage the scene.

The Avengers escorted Loki to the elevator to leave, while Hulk attempted to get in.

"Hey... Hulk, let's go together!"

"Damn it!"

Stark stopped Hulk from entering. "Big guy, you'll overload the elevator! Use the stairs instead!"

Hulk: "???"

Hulk wanted to argue, but seeing Thor in the elevator, he hesitated and stomped away helplessly.

Just as the elevator doors were about to close, the roar of a jet could be heard. Thor's eyes lit up as he ordered, "Forget it, Karla, take Natasha and fly down."

The two women, confused, exited the elevator.

"What are you doing? Isn't the elevator over capacity?"

Stark asked suspiciously, feeling uneasy.

Thor flashed a mischievous grin, stepped out of the elevator, and said to Hulk, "Alright, you go in!"

Hulk: "YAY!!!"

"Oh no, no, no!"

Stark and the others were thrown out by Hulk's enthusiastic push as the elevator doors closed...

A helicopter slowly landed on the rooftop. Nick Fury stepped out with a serious expression, and Thor went to meet him.

"The nuclear crisis is resolved."

Thor remained silent, knowing Nick Fury wasn't referring to New York.

"In fact, less than a minute after the nuclear bomb was launched, it detonated in the Atlantic Ocean without any warning, and the flight crew mysteriously disappeared."

Thor nodded and said, "Don't worry. If they truly intended to retaliate, it wouldn't have been just a fighter plane that vanished but the entire carrier. I've said it before—those black-clad individuals are much more discreet than expected."

Nick Fury remained noncommittal.

At this moment, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents finished their on-site work and headed toward the elevator.

Thor quickly said, "I'm going to assist with the rescue. Excuse me!"

With that, he hurried off.

Nick Fury was puzzled. When did Thor become so eager to help?

"We have secured the items. Next, we'll meet with the doctor. No obstacles remaining, Mr. Secretary-General."

On the eightieth floor of Stark Tower, the elevator door slowly opened.

Sitwell watched Thor enter with suspicion.

"Uh, sir, I thought you were involved in the rescue..."
