Ch 49: Space Array and Demon skeleton

"Anyways brat, brother Ling called you here for something else." Said Meng Wu Ya, wanting to finish the task quickly.

Yes, the reason Yang Feng came here right now was because he received a divine sense message from Ling Tai Xu. Meng Wu Ya's words brought Yang Kai and Ling Tai Xu back from their own thoughts as they focused at the task on hand.

"I had seen Yang Kai's fight with the Bai family young master, so I decided to send him to a place that would be beneficial to his growth. *Sigh* unfortunately or fortunately, neither you nor Su Yan can go there as both of you are already in the Immortal Ascension Realm."

Yang Feng knew what place he was talking about. The Nether Mountain, a place where various factions send their desciples to get fortunate encounters, to kill monster beast and use them to strengthen themselves.

But there was a problem. According to the original, this was supposed to happen at least a few months later when Yang Kai was more than 16 years old, unlike how right now with him being 15.

'Is this one of the butterfly effects because of the changes I made and the world is making things go faster than anticipated. Also are all things going to happen faster now.' he thought inwardly.

Ling Taixu continued, "as for the reason I called you here. You'll know when we reach deep into the Destitute Dragon Revine.", to which Yang Feng just nodded as he had already guessed why he has been called.

They then took off and went inside the canyon. Along the way he flew close to Yang Kai and asked him, "how's your preparations for the trip? Have you refined any of the weapons I gave you earlier?"

Yang Kai nodded with a smile and said, "Don't worry, I have everything prepared. As for the artifact, I did refine two of them, the Asura Sword and the Thousand Blossoming Blood Begonia. So I have my defense and attack covered."

Yang Feng just looked at him and asked, "have you told the two of them that you are leaving?". Yang Kai knew who Yang Feng was talking about, to which he just nodded.

After thinking for a brief moment, Yang Feng retrieved a few pills and two techniques from his inventory and gave them to Yang Kai. The pills were, healing pills along with some antidote, poison, cultivation pills, to help him stay alive.

As for the two techniques, these were from the techniques he made during his time in the treasure island. These were his 'Five Element Transformation' and 'Five Element Sword Art'. He had thought about it and found them suitable for Yang Kai as the Cultivation technique he used previously was a Dual Element technique, but now Yang Feng could feel that he was cultivating the Pure Yang Secret Arts as his foundation technique.

So Yang Feng estimated that with Yang Kai's talent, he would be able to cultivate this technique without much of a hassle. The reason he gave him the second technique was because Yang Kai mentioned that he had refined the Asura Sword.

When they reached there destination, in front of them was a large stone slate that had an array engraved on it. Yang Feng already knew what it was but was still curious about it. But before he could say anything Yang Kai asked the two old men, "what is this thing?"

Ling Taixu explained, "this 'thing' is a space array. A miraculous device that can allow someone to travel long distances in just an instant by connecting two points, with one point being this slate." He then looked towards us and continued, "it is something that our sect's Martial Ancestor had made, to help the sect in case of emergency."

Yang Kai who had been listening asked, "how far can we travel with this?". Ling Taixu smiled faintly and said, "About ten thousand miles."

'Could this be a wormhole.' Meng Wu Ya thought to himself as he listened to what Ling Taixu said. Ling Taixu then requested Yang Feng and Meng Wu Ya to pour their Qi into the slate.

As they started to poured their Qi into the slate Ling Taixu noted the purity and strength of Yang Feng's Qi, 'Your growth has surpassed my expectations. I'm sure your parents would be proud of your when they get the wind of it' he thought to himself but didn't say that out loud.

They continued to pour their Qi into the slate for a few minutes, a small spiral started to form in the center of the array on the slate. It continued to expand till it reached a certain length and stabilized, creating a wormhole.

Meng Wu Ya looked at the wormhole and exclamined in surprise and awe, "It really is a wormhole! The Founding Ancestor of your sect is quite the strong person, brother Ling."

Yang Feng on the other hand remained silent. His focus was on the wormhole as he was able to glimpse into something that others couldn't, he was able to 'see' the space laws used to make the wormhole.

This was only possible because of his Spiral Sensing Technique. Yang Feng hadn't thought that this technique would allow him to do this. As he 'looked' at the space laws, he felt as if a shackle broke in his mind and he was able to understand a few things about space law that he wasn't able to before, even with the knowledge he had.

There was something that had blocked his comprehension about the space laws when he was going through his memories. At that time although he knew and remembered everything about various laws from his memory, he was not able to understand what that knowledge indicated.

Now, a few things he remembered became clear, but not all of it. He then shifted his focus towards Yang Kai and Ling Taixu and saw them going inside the wormhole.

After they had left, Meng Wu Ya turned to leave but stopped seeing him not moving and looking at the array. He rose an eyebrow and asked him, "what are you doing brat? Worried about your brother?"

Yang Feng gave him a side glance before shaking his head in denial. "No, it won't do me any good to worry about him. I'll be staying here, I want to study this array. This array looks to be old and made my someone who was atleast a saint grade array master."

Hearing this, a light of understanding flashed across Meng Wu Ya's eyes and he nodded before leaving, "Just take care of yourself down here. I don't want my desciple to needlessly worry about you."

Yang Feng remained quite as he saw him leave. After confirming that he had truly left, Yang Feng shifted his eyes towards the depth of the canyon. The real reason he wanted to stay here was to confirm his suspicions and also because of the body of the demon saint.

According to the Novel, Yang Bai had left the Dragon Revine some time before he attacked the sect, but the time of his escape was not specified. After calculating the time frame according to his calculations, Yang Feng thinks that Yang Bai most definitely had already left the revine and is currently recovering.

So he wanted to take everything of value from here and also study the array, if he was truly gone. Yang Feng then jumped and let his body freely fall to the depth of the revine. He wasn't worried about the remant souls a bit as his soul was strong enough to be unaffected by them.

In just a minute he reached the bottom, during which he discovered that the deeper he went, the stronger the demonic/Yin aura became. After reaching the bottom he moved towards the location where he felt the origin of all the yin aura.

As he walked, he soon discovered a few trees with some fruit on it. The fruit was purple in color and was releasing a similar Yin aura as the surroundings. With his extensive knowledge about herbs and such, Yang Feng knew that this fruit was called the 'Evil Spirit Fruit'.

It was a fruit that forms when an area is contaminated with dense Yin aura for hundreds of years. The stronger and denser the aura the higher the quality of this fruit will be.

Judging the fruits according to his knowledge, he discovered that all the fruit were at least heaven grade, with just a handful reaching low mysterious grade.

'looks like Yang Bai had already eaten or taken the fruits that were of higher quality, if there were any.' he thought as he had already confirmed that he was the only living individual in the Revine right now.

He then started picking the fruits and storing them inside his inventory. By the time he was done with picking the fruits, he had more than a few dozens of them in his inventory.

After that he started to go further and in a minute he reached his destination. In front of his was a skeleton that was sitting cross legged. The skeleton was emitting demonic aura that had led to all the demonic aura in the canyon. This was the skeleton of a demon general that High Heaven Pavilion's Ancestor had killed and sealed here.

He also saw that there was a chain that had bound the demon general. It emitted an aura of pure yang attribute, akin to the energy from a blazing sun albeit with less intensity than the sun. This aura of pure yang was restraining the demonic aura from the skeleton, but a small amount of the demonic aura still slipped out from the skeleton.

'With the Enflamed Yang Stones, The Tier 6 wolf corpse, the evil spirit fruits, the demonic Qi in the canyon and this skeleton of a saint realm demon. If I play my cards right, I might be able to breakthrough to the Transendant Realm in just a few months, till the demonic war starts.'

Yang Feng then looked around him and thought of how to use all the demonic Qi most effectively. After an hour of checking around, he started to get things done.

He first took some time to set up a Peak Mysterious Grade Qi condensing array near the skeleton, so that all the Qi in the surroundings will be compressed towards the array. This will increase the Qi's quality a bit and will lessen the time it would take him to absorb it all.

Then he took off the Demon Sealing Chain from the skeleton. As he took the chain off, the demonic aura that was held back by the chain's aura, fully burst out, giving Yang Feng a slight pressure. Yang Feng however first threw the chain into his inventory and then activated his Abyssal Demonic Qi, stored inside his body.

As soon as he activated his abyssal Qi, the demonic Qi from the skeleton became a little subdued in nature, lifting off the slight pressure from Yang Feng. 'I was right. Unless a demon's cultivation is more than a great realm higher then mine and his Qi's quality is also higher than mine, only then would he be able to pressure me.'

He had thought about this before, as his Qi was a lot more compressed and powerful than others of the same realm. The suppression people of higher realms can place on him from their Qi's will be severely less, well at least till the Origin Returning Realm.

As for why he wasn't suppressed by the skeleton's Qi. The answer his simple, the demon was dead and the Qi released from the skeleton was just something the body was naturally releasing.

Yang Feng sat down in front of the demon skeleton and just looked at it for a minute. His estimate was that the Qi inside the skeleton was only that of a second order Transendant Realm.

After a minute, Yang Feng used his Origin Devouring Technique to devour the demon skeleton. He used this because he wanted to change the Qi and energy from the skeleton into pure energy to strengthen not only his body but also supplement his cultivation.

As he ulitized his technique, a black vortex extended from his hand and enveloped the skeleton. After a few hours the vortex retracted, with the demon skeleton nowhere to be seen.

'I really need to understand more about the devouring dao and also increase my understanding of the space dao, if I want to complete this technique.' Yang Feng thought for a moment, but let the thought go and focused on the pure energy he felt inside his body.

The Origin Devouring Technique he had created was not completed in the slightest because of his low understand of Devouring dao. What he wanted was to devour anything into a separate space that would be purified into pure energy and then used by him whenever he wanted.

He decided that when his comprehension was high enough, he would complete the technique.

As he focused on the energy inside his body, he used his Qi and body cultivation techniques. Although he wanted to do more stuff right now, unfortunately he didn't yet have the ability to do a lot of stuff simultaneously.

Right now, he had to control all the pure energy so that it doesn't do him any damage or escape from his body, while also circulate both of his cultivating technique and also make sure that nothing wrong happens to his cultivation.

Like this Yang Feng spent the next few days refining the energy in his body.
