Ch 35: inheritance

"Looks like I'm the one who has to wait for Su Yan to come." Yang feng said to himself and sat down in front of the two sources and thinking of what to do after he goes out of the inheritance cave.

'After going out I will go and take the Soul Warming Lotus and other things from the island. Then I should take care of the demon lord corpse, demon sealing chains and the other things in the coiling dragon stream.' Yang feng thought to himself and started cultivating while he waited.

It was 3 hours after Yang feng had started cultivating that he heard the sound of gates opening behind him. He didn't even look back and continued sitting in a lotus position, "You sure took your time coming huh, Su Yan."

"How did you knew it was me? you weren't even looking." Came the soft and curious voice of Su Yan from behind him, that contained her natural slight coldness to it.

"I just knew that it would be you." He said while smiling towards his side that was now occupied by Su Yan. Hearing him, she just revealed a small smile.

"I climbed Qi imbued 10,000 step, which changed attributes between Yang and Yin every 100 steps. Then crossed another 100 steps imbued with extreme yang Qi and finally shattered a wall made of extreme Yin attribute to reach here. What about you?" Yang feng asked her in a curious tone, though he already knew her answer.

"It was the same for me as well. Except that I climbed 100 steps imbued with extreme Yin Qi and had to destroy a wall of extreme yang Qi in the end." She said revealing a captivating smile, she didn't knew had a great effect on him.

"You came here first so do you know what this is about." She asked looking around the the palace with her eyes stopping at the two sources floating in the sky.

Yang feng looked at her face and thought for just a minute before speaking, "this is the main inheritance of this cave. These are sources of a Golden Dragon and Ice Phoenix. From what I discovered till now, the inheritance is for a couple and might be a dual cultivation technique. The inheriors will be taking the sources, the male will take the dragon and the female will take the phoenix."

As he was talking, he continued to look at her face and body language to see how she felt about it. When he said thst the inheritance might contain a dual cultivation technique, he saw a gleam in her eyes that went as fast as it came.

By the end of his speech, he wasn't able to tell what she thought about it and this was unnerving him. He started feeling anxious with each passing second as he didn't knew what her choice would be.

Su Yan was honestly his most favorite girl in the series and when he saw her the first time in this life, he instantly fell in love with her. Till now he doesn't know what exactly it was that he felt that day, but whenever he saw her he would be taken aback by her beauty and personality, every single time.

He waited till five whole minutes and couldn't bare the silence anymore, he wanted to know her answer. He spoke in a neutral voice to hide his fear and anxiety. "So what do you want to do?"

When she heard him asking her that, she was surprised at first and when she looked at him, he saw a certain gleam in her eyes he couldn't quite read. "Why are you asking me? What if I don't want to take on the inheritance?" She asked him in her usual voice.

Hearing this, his heart sank into his stomach. But he didn't show anything on his face,"well, then we should probably leave as soon as we can.", he said while getting up.

Just as he turned to leave, he felt her hand holding his, "When did I say I didn't want to?" She asked seeing his surprised questioning gaze. "But didn't yo..." She interrupted by saying, "I had said 'What if I didn't want to take the inheritance', not that I didn't want to."

When Yang feng heard her reasoning, he was positively stunned and asked her if she was really alright with it, "Are you really alright with it. You know that this could bind us in a marriage."

She didn't reply him and started circulating her technique and told him to do the same. He looked at he and asked the last question he had,"You sure you won't regret this? Let me tell you I can be really possessive."

She showed a tiny smile that he couldn't quite see, "well, at least I am not regreting it now." And that did it. Yang feng sat down cross-legged and started using his Qi cultivation technique.

As he circulated his technique there was an immediate response from the dragon source. He was worried before that as his technique was not a pure yang technique, so he didn't knew if this would work. But looks like he was worried for nothing. Instead it felt that the source was rather ... excited?

Both sources slowly lowered and entered their bodies. As they entered their bodies, they felt information about a dual cultivation art entering their minds along with a Phantom of a Dragon and Phoenix leaving their bodies, revolving above them and trying to reach each other.

"It really is a dual cultivation technique." Yang feng said while enduring the scorching heat he was feeling, looking at the shivering Su Yan. Seeing her like this he reached out a hand and grabbed one of her hands, circulating his yang Qi into her body through her hand.

"Thanks", feeling a little better Su Yan thanked him. It took a few minutes before he too started to struggle as well, in fact he thought that he was feeling the effect even more than Su Yan.

Which was not wrong at all. Because of his higher body cultivation and thus higher resilience, he was being subjected to even greater torture, being supplied greater amount of yang Qi.

Seeing him struggle, Su Yan also took his other hand into hers and started sending the cold Qi to ease the raging Yang Qi in his body. Yang feng also offered his thanks to her.

They stayed like that for a few more minutes until yang feng saw Su Yan struggle again and slowly showing an intoxicated look, to be honest he himself was not any better and knew that he would not be able to hold on for much longer.

"Su Yan!!" He shouted out to her, to bring her out of her intoxication, which seems to work, Albert only for a minute. A minute during which he too started to feel the intoxicated feeling.

He looked into her eyes which were looking back into his. "Su Yan", he called out to her in a low needy voice. "Yang Feng", she too called out his name looking into his eyes with the same needy tone.

The two slowly inches closer to each other still looking into each other's eyes, they didn't show any hesitation. When their lips touched each other, it was as if a gate opened to them and whatever was holding them back a few minutes ago finally broke.
