Chapter Thirty-Six: His Back
After ignoring Liam for a while, Alex finally reached out and invited him over. The two best friends needed to have a serious conversation about the dangerous road Liam was heading down with Jamal and his twisted plot against Ava Taylor, the billionaire heiress.
When Liam arrived at Alex's modest apartment, his friend cut right to the chase, his expression stern yet tinged with worry.
"The stupid bet you idiots made trying to date Ava Taylor, and how it spiraled completely out of control with you getting mixed up with that psycho Jamal's kidnapping and extortion schemes, that was too extreme," Alex stated bluntly.
Liam opened his mouth to try explaining, but Alex raised his hand to silence him. There was no need to rehash the messy details - Alex had already been filled in by some of the other guys originally involved with the ludicrous bet.
