"Mut!" one of the secretaries held her back,
"How does it feel to make love to an old man?"
The others laughed at the question.
"Yes, and ugly too! I'm sure she did it blindfolded!" Their laughter rumbled even more.
Mumut looked at them one by one. She felt irritated that they dared to ask about her private life like that. Mumut sighed before she finally said, "To me, my husband is the most handsome man I know. He is someone who loves me. It doesn't matter what all of you have to say about him." She said as she walked away from those people.
Mumut was sure that if they had known she was the wife of their leader, they wouldn't have dared to bother her. They bothered her out of jealousy because a lowly employee like her could marry a rich man.
After cleaning and tidying up all the equipment, Mumut immediately went to the pantry and rested there while enjoying a cup of warm tea. She took her backpack from the locker. She took out a Mushaf and began reading it in a low voice. After reading a few pages, Mumut marked it and closed the Mushaf to be put back in her backpack. She then took out her Macbook and turned it on.
Mumut then looked serious as she stared at the monitor and her hands nimbly played on the keyboard, typing something.
"Mut," Harti's voice startled her.
Mumut turned around and smiled at Harti.
"Some people told me the secretaries were bullying you in their room?"
"It's okay, Har. When they find out who Mumut is, they won't bully me anymore."
"Your husband must be a very influential person, huh?"
"Well,"
"You are fortunate, Mut."
Several people entered the room, and they saw Yeni among one of them. Mumut glanced at them. They had come to prove whether she had these luxury items. They stared in amazement at Mumut's laptop and cell phone. They then asked Mumut about the things as well as about her husband. Mumut answered everything except about her husband.
"Mut, your husband is rich, treat us something, please," asked Yeni.
"Yes, Mut," said another.
Mumut looked at them, smiling faintly.
"Let me ask permission from my husband first, okay?"
Everyone looked at Mumut expectantly. She didn't dare to call Bian for fear of disturbing him and sent him a message instead. She waited for Bian's reply. He didn't read Mumut's notice for a long time. Yeni and her friends looked at Mumut expectantly.
Five minutes later, Mumut's phone rang. She immediately picked it up.
(Hello, yes, how is it, Honey?)
(Yes, use the credit card that I gave you.) Bian replied.
"But ...." Mumut felt terrible. She was afraid that Bian would think of her as a materialistic wife.
(Think of it as the celebration of our wedding because yesterday we didn't invite them) Bian laughed. (That's all. I still have a meeting.)
"Thank you,"
Mumut's face looked happy, after closing the phone she asked them to come to Astro cafe after work.
Cafe Astro was located not far from the company, about five hundred meters from here. The cafe decoration was very contemporary, with a futuristic theme offering a modern menu.
There were about ten people, including Harti, who came to the place. For them, this was a rare opportunity because even though it was located close to the company, the price was not affordable for those lowly employees. Without asking for a recommendation from Bian, Mumut would not come here either.
Mumut let them choose their food. Mumut smiled when she saw them happily enjoying the food.
"Your husband didn't pick you up, Mut?" asked Harti while sipping her drink.
Mumut shook her head, smiling. Of course, Mumut didn't want them to know who her husband was at this time.
Mumut's phone vibrated, and she immediately checked it. She received a text message from Budi asking her to meet him around four in the afternoon.
