Chapter 19:The King's Decree

King Debedebe's words echoed through the grand hall, his decision made. The nobles, advisors, and warriors dispersed, each knowing their role in the coming war. Prince Aran approached his father, his expression concerned.

"Father, are you certain this is wise? War brings destruction and suffering. Can we not find another way?"

King Debedebe's expression turned stern. "I have made my decision, Prince Aran. Niya Kingdom will expand its borders, no matter the cost. You will support my decree and lead our armies to victory."

Prince Aran nodded reluctantly, knowing his duty as the future king. "As you command, Father."

Queen Lirien approached her husband, her voice soft but urgent. "My king, please reconsider. War will bring devastation to our people and our land. Is expansion worth the cost?"

King Debedebe's expression softened, his eyes filled with a deep sadness. "My queen, I fear it is already too late. The wheels of war are in motion, and we must see it through to its bitter end."

The king's decree was final, and the kingdom of Niya began preparations for war.
