"Are you saying she just woke up?" Cyrus inquired nonchalantly.
"Do you think I am lying?" River asked, scoffing.
"Perhaps," Cyrus hissed, shifting his gaze to Sage and Katherine, who were sitting on the bed, excitedly speaking to each other.
Cyrus and River stood outside beside the open door, both hands in their pockets. They felt it was important to share themselves because Katherine and Sage had clearly missed each other's company, and Cyrus could feel Sage's overwhelming excitement, which brought a small smile to his lips.
"The fire mage is..."
"Have you heard from your uncle?" Cyrus cut in straight.
"No." River responded with a suspicious look at Cyrus, asking, "Why?"
"Videnia has been attacked." Cyrus responded by chewing his lower lip and turning his gaze to River, who appeared slightly stunned.
"The barrier..."
"It is still impenetrable."
