Chapter 6

Olivia's POV

I have a lot to think about. How can I let him into my life? He walks out of my life without a chance. Now I am sitting at the bar sipping champagne. Annulment is on my mind at the moment. Why should I give him a chance? Has he forgotten me for three years? He never contacted me or sent a birthday gift. This only knew he was the cause of the tabloids or his mom.

I thought about how his family helped mine. I am only 23 years old and successful in my own right. I have become one of the wealthiest women in the world and received an Image Award for my business and for helping the community.

I am confused about this situation. Rico has been by my side through the whole thing. We have developed a strong friendship. Then I discovered he broke the contract agreement by getting Eva pregnant even though he made her get an abortion.

He cracked our marriage contract. I can break the contract and keep the money. Since we never consummated the marriage, I can annul it. Why couldn't he give me a chance?

I bet he thinks he has a chance because I set Eva straight. Believe me when I say that I am no fool. I am a 23-year-old virgin, and my only kiss was a peck. Sicilian-born influences my values.

I want an annulment and Rico a chance. Could you date him and see where a relationship can progress? My baby's knowledge will be shared with him. He thinks he hides it well. I was contacted the minute Eva entered the clinic. Nothing happens in Italy without my knowledge. I was born and raised there. My family is well known in Italy. My uncle always watches Mariano. They never wanted me to marry Mariano Di Vaio. My uncle could have escaped the situation. But my father wanted his business to be legitimate. When did my parents get married? His family may have disowned him because of my mother's skin color. Then we were born, and his family changed their minds.

I know more than I should about his situation. Mariano thinks he will walk back into me and needs to be corrected. I will let him enjoy this dinner. I already had the annulment papers drawn up. This was a tough decision, but we have never bonded. He has embarrassed my family and me for three years. I keep asking myself why I should give him a chance.

There is no reason I should give him a chance to break my heart. I will never forget how he left me on my wedding night. To add insult to injury, I watched him board a plane with his lover. When I got to my location, I found that he had booked her and him a room in the same hotel. They were supposed to arrive at the end of my vacation but still.

I will stop that by renting a bungalow on the beach.

I am only twenty-three, and my life is just beginning, so I'm living it to the fullest.

Well, it is dinnertime, so that I will present an excellent front. There was a lot of food at dinner, which was beautiful. We will watch football. Not my idea of fun, but I lost a bet with Santos.

At dinner,

We had a fantastic dinner last night. Play games all night while the guys watch football. I even hung out with Rico Jr. He helped me decide. Frankly, Mariano does not deserve a chance with me. Mariano had three years wasted with Eva. He even got her pregnant which voided the contract. It does not matter whether she had an abortion. I keep the money.

As a husband and wife, we have always been together. I will annul the marriage annulled. He is coming over today to give him my decision.

It is time to start my life over. I want to see if I can have a life with Rico Jr. Rico has been my backbone these past three years.

I decided to meet Mariano neutrally. We'll meet for a coffee at one of my restaurants.

So nervous, but I know it is time to wake up. I have never married Mariano. It has only been an official marriage. It is time to be happy. I am tired of being alone with family and staff. Goodness, I need some male companionship to keep me company at night.

When I arrive, Mariano is still sexy as ever. Damn, why didn't he give me a chance? We would have made some beautiful babies.

Hello Mariano, I am glad you met me. It was no trouble, Olivia; I wanted to discuss our marriage. Olivia smiles.

Mariano was nervous. He wanted to try this marriage. In his heart, he knew it might be too late. I am trying to convince her to give us a shot. I just wanted to let you know that there is nothing here.

Well, Olivia, I have decided that in the three years we have been married. I've never given them a chance. So, how do you feel about our union?

Honestly, Mariano, we should get dissolved so I can find happiness. Recently I started dating your brother, and we want to see where it leads. Mariano, I have no feelings for you. When we married, I had high hopes. Then you walked away with your lover and never gave me a chance.

Olivia pulled the annulment papers out of her bag. I would like you to sign these papers, Mariano. We never had a relationship, slept in the same house, or talked for three years. Please release your forgotten wife from this dreadful marriage.

He could not believe Olivia was not giving him a chance. Damn it, he messed up this situation. Mariano, you do not have to worry about your inheritance. Olivia sighs deeply; I have spoken with your father, who says we can keep anything I have obtained in this marriage.

There is one good thing about this marriage. It's the friendship of your father. He is an excellent business partner. When you see me in the future, Mariano, we can make this marriage a distant memory. I hope you find what you need.

Mariano signed the paperwork. He shook her hand and watched her walk out of the building.

Mariano's POV

Olivia is gorgeous. I now see what I lost when she left the building. My brother caught me slipping on my forgotten wife. Damn it!

Olivia's POV

I am finally single and loving it to the max. I need to figure out what to do first. Well, I will throw a party to celebrate my life. Tonight, I am dating Ricardo Di Vaio Jr. I am excited; he is okay. He will be my new husband.

Honestly, it feels comfortable to be away from Mariano. Living in a man's shadow is challenging. I was the forgotten wife for three years. The tabloids had fun with life. No more! I have decided to wear a maxi dress for my date tonight with Rico.

We celebrate my freedom. I want to take it slow this time. Besides, I am a 23-year-old virgin. It is my time to date and sees what life has to offer.

I like spending time with Rico, though. He has been my friend while I dealt with Mariano's drama. Tonight, we are attending an art exhibit and dinner.

Rico Jr's POV

I received a weird call from my brother today. He was upset because Olivia would not give him a chance. Why should she give him a chance? I did not know what to say. How do I tell my brother I am dating Olivia?
