“I think you’re right.” We hurried through a shared shower, and when we were back in our bedroom, we put on shorts and undershirts as William had advised us to, since we’d be getting up for night feedings for the foreseeable future. I went to gaze down at my children. “I’m naming this little beauty Destiny,” I told Mark as he climbed into bed.
“Why?” he asked, sounding suspicious.
“I thought it was a pretty name.”
“Oh. Okay.”
“Don’t you think so?”
“Yeah, it’s fine. As long as you don’t name her brother Fate.”
I burst into laughter, then clapped a hand over my mouth to muffle the sound. “No, Mark. I have no intention of giving the poor baby such a name.”
“Good. So what do you plan to name him?”
“Alexander. It was Father’s middle name.”
“That’s a good name, babe.”
“Mother will like it, don’t you think?”
