Get angry already!

Chief Farad was in a panic.

Sirens blazed as they headed to the last known location of Cheryll Quinn, who had disconnected from the network after recording what was suspected to be a robbery.

It was her first patrol, and nothing would be worse than losing his first student on their first day.

Stepping on the gas, he rushed to the scene without hesitation.

Back at the bank, Don faced down what was probably the end of him. The robber frowned at his wretched state after one casual attack.

"Insects keep forgetting their place today." The man said, shaking his head to feign disapproval.

Don gritted his teeth in pain. His arm was bleeding in several places, but no bones were broken. It was still usable.

Clenching his fists, he faced the incoming threat head on. His body released a modest amount of steam, but the entity beside him observed with disappointment.

"You would get more out of this if you were angry, Anger. Fear isn't beneficial right now." The girl said offhandedly.

"You're not the one facing down a guy who can blow shit up." Whispered Don. "It's way too terrifying-"

The robber ran at him before he had a chance to finish his conversation. Moving back in fear, he barely managed to avoid the first swing, expanding the distance between them.

This didn't last long however, as the man closed the gap in an instant and stretched out his arm, pushing Don back slightly.

"Shit-" said Don before he was blown across the street, landing on the pavement. Coughing up blood, he believed his odds were grimm. He could barely see the man walking closer to him as blood had gotten into his eyes.

"I'm really supposed to have the same rights as someone as powerless as you?" The robber sneered. "When I saw you covered in steam I thought, oh this might be interesting….turns out it was just a bluff."

Don had accepted his fate. He laid his eyes on the entity, smiling at her as she would be the only one to witness his end. Now all that was left was to pass away without stress…she was approaching him for some reason.

A sharp pain on his left cheek brought him back.

He looked up at his assailant with a new form of hatred. But before he could speak, another slap landed itself on his right cheek.

"Wake up. Stop wallowing in self pity. He called you an insect. Are you really just going to take that?" She said, hands on her hips whilst she lectured the sad wreck. "Do you despise your position in life so much that you limit yourself to this much?"

"I can't do anything right now…"

"Shut up! Forget about what's been said about you for a minute. You are about to die! Most people don't want to die this way. Rather than go out peacefully, why not release the last of your strength to resist this end!"

"But…"

"But what! You have nothing to lose anymore! No expulsion, no disapproval, nothing! Just get up" she said, walking backwards. "And get pissed."

Don glanced at the girl as the man got closer. He thought about what she said.

She had a point. There was nothing to lose right now.

He managed to get up to his feet, much to his opponent's surprise. "All my life...I've been called useless… I've been ridiculed, bullied, and denied because I wasn't blessed with a more conventional power. I clawed my way up despite all that, and I landed myself in a respectable position in life. And after all that, powers are what take me out? Fuck that!" Shouted Don, the steam basically enshrouding his whole body.

"I've come too far, I've done too much, I will not be taken out like this! I will fight, and even if I die I won't be remembered as some insect! No, forget that! I'm gonna screw you over instead you elitist piece of crap! Die!" Don said, now running towards the threat, covered in dark steam.

The robber was a little stunned, but mostly kept his composure. "He's still an insect." He said to reassure himself.

"FUCK YOU!" Don shouted as he erupted into crimson flames.

"What-" said the robber before a solid punch landed on his cheek, sending him flying into the hardware store. Before he could get his wits, Don was in front of him, giving him yet another devastating punch, breaking the tiled interior of the establishment.

The hostages screamed as the fight got closer to them. But one maintained their cool. Samantha Harrier was a reporter with the ability to record and download whatever she saw, and while her luck was shitty to have this occur the day she wanted to get a new camera, she wouldn't miss a minute of the action.

The robber took a moment to assess the situation. His opponent was strong enough to send him flying, and fast enough to move across the street in less than a second.

Dangerous was an understatement. Fortunately it would seem his opponent lacked common sense.

With a single thought, Don's sleeves combusted. His arms should have been out of the fight.

Which is why he was shocked when Don appeared in front of him once more and landed a devastating uppercut.

Before he got any rest however, Don grabbed him by the collar and slammed him to the ground, where he proceeded to keep him locked down while landing punch after punch with a blood soaked arm.

The man looked upon his aggressor as his consciousness began to fade. Don's eye's had rolled back and the amount of blood he was losing should've made him faint long ago. Whatever was fighting him now, wasn't the kid he was beating down a minute ago. No.

This was close to a Tier 1!

The earth began to shake as a crater formed around the criminal's head, the surroundings stained with both of their blood. The robber had gone unconscious but Don kept going. Eventually the punches ended, and Don grabbed the man by the leg and threw him out of the building.

Screaming like a lunatic, he punched the ground repeatedly without purpose.

By now the Guards had arrived. They surrounded the building and ordered the perpetrator to reveal himself.

One of the three cars in the blockade was kicked to the other side of the street.

In their midst, Don stood burning intensely. They opened fire, but not fast enough.

Dodging most of their initial rounds by sheer luck, he appeared only during shot intervals to deliver devastating blows to each guard. 7 Guards laid on the ground before Don appeared in front of Chief Farad.

But this didn't go the way it had the other 7 times. Farad caught the punch, then landed a strong blow on the lad's solar plexus. The flames instantly went out, and Don fell flat on his face.

Farad sighed as he shook his wrist. He needed a team.

Taking a look at the perk, he was shocked at his physical condition.

His arms were broken in horrifying ways and his fingers fared no better. He was soaked in blood, and Farad knew it wasn't from his men. He also seemed to have passed out ages ago.

The Guard had no idea what he was looking at, but he would confirm later. Calling the medical team to begin first aid, he glanced around, hoping to see Cheryl in a much better state.

"Cheryl!" He shouted hoping to get a response. "Over here chief!" A voice came from behind a jeep.

Rushing over, he was relieved to see that she looked significantly better than the other guy.

"You good officer?" Asked the chief as he bent down to check her condition.

"Better than the other two, Chief." She said as she was lifted by a pair of paramedics. "The perk is stuck in that building over there." She stated, pointing to a nearby flower shop that had a man planted into its walls. "You'll need power suppressants for that one."

The chief was confused. "So who the hell was that?"

"A bystander that got involved." She said bluntly.

"We are gonna have to take him in nonetheless. He assaulted Guards...man this is a mess" he said as he looked at the surrounding carnage. "Free the hostages." He ordered. The men that remained moved in to free the unlucky victims, half of which had passed out due to fear.

A small crowd of reporters had formed to get a hold of the event. They had originally had to wait for the battle to cool down as only a fool would attempt to record a fight of this magnitude as it was going on.

Which is why Samantha smiled to herself as she was freed. Her power allowed her to record the whole event from the best possible seat. News stations would drool for this kind of video.

While all this occured, the entity followed Don as he was carried away by the ambulance. Sitting on top of the vehicle, a smile appeared on her deathly pale face, her blood-red teeth in full view.

"That was ecstasy."

She laughed to herself while the sirens wailed, excited for what her host would do next.
