Chapter 6 Make Snake Chowder

Alaia had just followed the maid to the kitchen door when she was forcefully pushed in. Behind her came a few clicking sounds, and the kitchen door and windows were all locked.

Emelia was in the dark outside the door. She followed Alaia here, claiming that she was here to make some tea. The maid immediately bowed her head respectfully.

"Ms. Garner, the things Mrs. Chase asks are all ready." The maid lifted the lip of the basket at her feet. Five poisonous snakes were quietly staying inside.

Emelia covered her lips and chuckled. "Do it neatly."

"Don't worry, Ms. Garner. There's powder in the kitchen, so the snakes will only attack anyone with a body temperature. Now that it's summer, snakes are everywhere in the mountains. She gets bitten, because she is unlucky."
