Chapter 37. The Battle of 3rd District(1)

Being a bandit, means to live through bloodshed throughout the life.

It is something Kane knows well, and have done it well.

And blood... the reason for his living, how can he mistake it even if the night is dark!

"Danger!"

Being a bandit leader at such a young age, and thriving since then shows that by no means he is an idiot.

"Who came in to attack us? No, why I am thinking here? My own life is in danger!"

He removed all useless thoughts and concentrated just focusing on his life. People like him don't work for some holy means like trust or promise. He works for interest.

And Boros gives him interest more than he could imagine.

But if his life comes in danger, without the priority changes.

"Where is it?"

He took up his sword and started to warm up his aura rings in his heart. The two rings started to tune it, generating aura making it clear that he is 2nd tier aura user.

It is kind of ironic that even a bandit like him knows to use aura, though it is not surprising. He must have looted many nobles and kind of got an aura manual.

But still, Asagi the one tasked to deal with him didn't change her expression.

Before the attack, Ren informed all the members about the people they need to watch out.

Kane, a former bandit. He is quite famous in his profession, and that led Boros to recruit him.

He is skilled with his sword, and that's the point to watch out.

But still it isn't much to faze Asagi. Who she is?

She is Igawa Asagi. The upcoming genius who is going to be strongest among the Taimanins.

She might have lost to Ren once, but she didn't slack off. Her pride of being strong is something that makes her work more hard.

Let it be in fights or in bed.

Asagi just came out of nowhere and slashed with her sword at Kane's neck with the intention to kill him off in one strike.

But Kane quickly lifted his sword an blocked it under Asagi's surprised eyes.

"How? I concealed myself."

"Heh! It seems you are surprised that I blocked your attack."

Kane used aura to strengthen himself and pushed her back, and then striked back. Asagi might have been surprised, but still it didn't mean that she was stunned.

She quickly blocked it, but the force was a bit for her to handle. So, she also used her power - Taima particles to enhance herself and blocked it.

"Hooh! To think such a beauty is out to hunt me. I am pleased!"

That sudden attack was a bit in rush, so it didn't give him time to look at his enemy. But now he could see Asagi.

Wearing a tight suit, fully showing her bulbous figure, with a mask covering her face. But still, it was his instinct that Kane knew that this woman is beautiful.

'That sword...'

Even though he was smiling and acting like a scumbag, Kane is quite a smart person. He never let's his emotions rule over him, and makes most moves with his wit.

To not show his worry, he stood up front with a confident facade, but his hand was shaking from blocking that sword.

He himself knew that the woman who attacked him is no simple assassin.

'At least, it made me certain that these attackers are from Avalon.'

It's not uncommon for them to be under attack. Though Boros's infamy is well circulated in 3rd district, there is no short of idiots who came to attack Wolfrain in the dreams to become the reigning king of 3rd district.

But all of them are low grade thugs and bandits who team up to attack them. And getting annihilated in front of them is just a matter of course.

But from the woman's attack at least he could judge that the attacker is not some common thug.

But...

'So what! Boros is a monster. How he could lose?'

Being with Boros as one of his closest follower, he knows the real strength of Boros.

For him, he couldn't imagine that monster being defeated.

"It's Avalon, isn't it?"

He looked at Asagi whose eyes twitched a bit at his claim making him more certain.

He took up his sword stance and taunted Asagi to attack him.

Being a seasoned fighter, Asagi understood his intention, but still she took the bait.

After all, that Kane bastard insulted Avalon. Insulted her new home, insulted her new master.

Normally, Asagi doesn't talk with her enemies but this time it's an exception.

"Wiped out of existence? You are right. But you got something wrong. It's not Avalon but the name Boros and this city Wolfrain are going to wiped out."

Shoosh! Swipe!

Asagi rushed and striked him. But like before, Kane turned his sword and blocked it. But both of them didn't stop at one.

After one unsuccessful attack, Asagi just continued striking Kane at different angles making it difficult to block.

'This... It's tough!'

<2nd Tier - Aura Reinforcement>

Aura Reinforcement. It is an advanced technique the 2nd tier aura users are able to use. It makes the user to able to form a cover of aura over a place that can increase its defense or offense.

'It's like Ren-sama!'

Asagi quickly noticed it, and remembered Ren using it in fight. She striked it with her sword, but it bounced back as if she struck a rock with her sword.

'It's the same. Then...'

Knowing that with her current strength, she won't be able to break through it, Asagi jumped back and used her special art.

She closed her eyes and used all her Taima particles to enhance herself. And in a flash, she just disappeared from Kane's sight.

"Wha? Where is she!"

The sudden uncertainty flustered Kane making him a bit agitated. And this was the chance for Asagi's comeback.
