Connor

Following Cody was easy with the ice magic. He felt a pull from whatever direction it was in. like an invisible force was calling him that way. Cody had slipped out again at night. Connor wished he had picked daytime. He had brought a flashlight but the darn thing kept flickering out. His phone had also run out of battery two hours ago. Just how long was Cody going to run around the town for?

He hissed slightly as he lost sight of him again. He paused closing his eyes and feeling for his Majikku residue. That way he turned slightly and headed off down the side street. Why was he going so far north? This area was full of abandon buildings, and gangs. Well that's probably why Cody's here he growled to himself. He was after all chasing around gang members with the red wolf head symbol. Connor had figured out a few things by following him the past few days.

One he was looking for a Boss Yammado person who was apparently the head of the Firewolfs gang. Two they seemed to be selling some kind of element drug made of Majikku. As long as a fire type user used a fire type they would double their skills for an hour and be fine. However if they used the wrong type it would form a dark element killing them instantly. Non-mages had a 50/50 chance of dying or gaining the magic element they used. They made up the majority of the body count. And lastly they seemed to be experimenting on humans and beasts to make a dark element that was stable.

Connor had head Cody curing the thought of gang members with the ability to use all types of magic. At first he thought Cody was jealous, and he was ticked because like dude you already have two elements even if you black out occasionally. Then he learned Cody was ticked because all their experiments kept dying. Then he found it sweet that Cody actually cared. And so his crush grew even more.

Even now watching from behind a torn up old parking lot Connor couldn't help but admire Cody's elegance as he walked. He'd even started to like his fluid movements with a knife. It was like he was some undercover superhero for justice. He smirked, maybe if he ever managed to get a hold of Cody's birthday date he'd get him a cape. His grin grew as he imagined all the other birthday stuff he could annoy Cody with.

Cody was further away now, time to move up closer. He slipped from behind the debris and forward. He was just in time to see Cody vanish. Wait no not vanish. He moved up to the place where Cody had been a second ago. There was a short drop into an underground part of the old car lot. He poked his head down looking around. A few shafts of light filtered in from above. Cody had walked to the end up it and was examining something on the ground.

A person shot out of the corner toward Cody. Connor let out a slight gasp as he watched. Cody being an epic person though nimbly slipped around the side of him and held a knife to his throat. He couldn't hear what he said but the other person dropped their weapon and put their hands up. He continued watching when a rough hand grabbed Connor from behind pulling him up.

"Well isn't this interesting." Smirked a man in a hood. "Here I was told Brightspeed always worked alone." His breath smelled heavily of fish and something rotten making Connor gag. He roughly dragged Connor into the underground area while pulling out gun.

The temperature seemed to drop significantly just from moving underground. Connor was dragged roughly over where a third member was facing Cody. Cody still had the first man trapped.

"Hey Hey, look what I found." Sang the man holding Connor. "Seems like your losing your touch Brightspeed if you were followed." Connor looked up to see Cody looking at him his face expressionless.

"A hostage?" questioned the not trapped man, "Don't bother or did you forget Brightspeed is the agent famous for letting a 5yr old hostage die in order to save the rest of them. He's one of the only agents on the CIA list that's literally immune to feelings."

Immune to feelings, that can't be right. He had seen Cody smile and show sympathy plenty of times right? He looked over again Cody's face remained expressionless and his tone was cold when he said, "I could care less about your hostage, but can you say the same thing about mine?" With that he pressed his knife deeper against the hostage's throat making him squirm.

Connor's breath froze in his throat. Was this the real Cody?

"Fine I'll take you to Boss Yammado." Growled the one without a hostage. He nodded to the one holding Connor, "Go ahead and get rid of the … whoever he is."

Connor looked in horror as his keeper raised his gun. An elbow jabbed into his side knocking him across the floor. Cody was standing in front of him. He had dropped his hostage in the process. How the heck had he moved so fast?

"Ah true to your name, you really are the fastest I've seen, and what? Not being emotionless after all?" Asked the one who seemed to be in charge.

Cody tapped his foot back killing the bright magic that had been on his shoes. "No" he said nonchalantly, "My boss just gets annoyed if my body count is too high."

The man previously holding Connor laughed, "Heh, well even if it is for a reason as silly as that, looks like he might be useful after all. Fine we'll take you to see the boss, but Mr. drop in is coming as well."

"Afraid I can't do that." Cody clicked his tongue in… was it annoyance?

The other guy paused, "Either he comes or dies here. Your choice."

Cody paused as if considering it. "Eh bring him then." He replied with a slight roll of his eyes.

Connor felt a shiver run down his spine. He really couldn't read this Cody at all.
