Magic of Ages

It was excruciatingly cold outside and Izzy hurriedly fished out the keys from her pants pocket and inserted the key. Once the key fit into the hole she found that the door was already opened. Izzy thought it was weird but not something alarming, it simply meant that one of her parents must have come home early.

Izzy closed the door behind her to make sure that none of the cold from the outside got into the house.

"Mom! Dad! Are you home?" Izzy called.

The warmth of the house sent a warm shiver up her spine as her body adjusted to the temperature. She waited to hear an answer, but all she heard was silence for a few moments and then a loud bang came from upstairs.

Izzy frowned and took out her phone messaging both her Mom and Dad, asking if they were home. Once the message sent she waited until her Mom responded.

[Hun I'm still at work, make sure to do your homework and cook. Love you], the message read.

Izzy texted back until she heard another bang and then a sharp cry from upstairs.

Without thinking Izzy ran up the stairs skipping two steps at a time, her first thought was that her Dad had perhaps injured himself.

"Dad!" she called running into her parent's bedroom, but it was empty. She ran out of the room and into the hall towards the bathroom that was just passed her room when her phone vibrated and a message came through.

[Izz, I'm not home. Why are you asking?]

The message was from her Dad.

Izzy's body froze.

If her parents weren't home that meant someone was in the house, suddenly Izzy looked up from her phone towards her room's door that was slightly ajar. The light in her room was dim but one thing Izzy could see from the door was a white outline, she shrieked realising that what she was looking at was an eye.

Both she and the eye stared at each other, the eye seemed abnormally large and remained unblinking, that caused Izzy to become even more fearful.

Not looking away from the eye Izzy decided that her safest bet was to run and lock herself in the bathroom and call the police.

She mentally counted down from three, with her heart hammering in her chest and her eyes glued to the eye.

Once she counted to one she bolted to the bathroom, hoping, praying that whatever was in her room did not get her. Izzy pulled open the door with great force and shut it turning the key of the bathroom door and locking it.

She fumbled with her phone with her back against the door, typing the number in with shaky hands Izzy failed to notice that the shower curtain was slowly peeling back.

Just as she was about to press the green call button Izzy's phone loudly sang, the ringtone of her favourite song played and Izzy dropped her phone in fright.

The caller was her Dad, Izzy bent down to pick up her phone when the shower curtain tore down and a large figure crashed to the ground it let out an ungodly shriek.

Shocked Izzy screamed, the noise was overpowering as the phone continued to ring but the sound was drowned out with the figure's screeching and Izzy's screaming.

Finally, the phone stopped ringing and the thing that came tumbling out of Izzy's shower stopped screaming, Izzy's voice was hoarse as she curled up near the door with eyes wide.

The figure curled up in the shower curtain started to stir, frozen Izzy could do nothing but stare, her mind was blank as she took in the towering height of the thing that rose from the ground.

The shower curtain fell down Izzy was horrified in front go her was the tall figure, of a butt naked man. From her position, her line of sight fell right on something she'd seen only in biology classes, a thing that usually was attached to a man. It stood erect, and for some reason seemed to get closer to her, in an attempt to get it away, Izzy slapped the thing.

Her hand collided with it and it swung to the side, Izzy heard a loud cry and then saw the man crouched down clutching his man part. He groaned and seeing her chance Izzy ran out but not before grabbing her phone that was lying beside the naked man.

She unlocked the door in a hurry and jumped out of the bathroom.

The one thing on her mind was to get out of the house but Izzy had forgotten that there was another intruder in her home.

As she turned around Izzy came face to face with something that could only be described as shrouded in darkness, it appeared to be in the form of a man but it seemed less tangible and almost blurred. The only distinguishing features were two large sharp eyes, the same eyes that had stared at her through her room door.

The experience was too much for Izzy and she fell to the floor, breathing out a whimpering "Help…".

The dark thing moved towards her and let out a loud moaning sound, Izzy tried to move but her feet were stuck to the ground.

Suddenly she was shoved back, the butt naked man stood in front of her chanting something in a melodic tone then Izzy saw a blue patterned, circle appear in the air. It glowed and then something shot out of it string the dark figure which fought to avoid the blue light but failed. Cold air filled the corridor as the dark figure began to freeze from the feet up. It reached out towards the man trying to claw at his face but was completely frozen, and then with a thunderous bang, the figure shattered upon the ground.

Izzy breathed out a white cloud from her mouth as she shivered from the cold and fear. The man who had destroyed the dark figure stood with his back to her, he was a well-defined man with broad shoulders, thin waist and a taut butt. He turned around and Izzy turned her head away.

" Please don't kill me", she begged.

The man looked at the girl cowering on the ground and frowned, "I'm not going to kill you" he said in a stoic voice.

He then turned back around facing away from her, Izzy used this chance to call the cops, the tone rang but instead of ringing silently Izzy's phone played the dial on speaker. Her heart dropped hearing the dial fill the corridor I'm Dead! she thought.

Then the man turned around his face held a serious look, Izzy thought she was going to die until a light flooded her eyes. The tone had connected and the dispatcher's voice spoke, but Izzy couldn't hear it as her ears rang and her vision went blank.

When she came to Izzy felt all warm and fuzzy inside, she could feel the sun on her face and she turned over, searching for her covers.

"Mom, ah it's too early" she groaned, then she heard birds chirp and a growl in the distance, Izzy shot up expecting to be in her bed, but now she was surrounded by all green.

Green grass and trees, Izzy looked up she was lying under a large tree Izzy shifted away.

Where the hell am I? Did I sleepwalk?

She got up from the ground dusting off her dirty clothes, the sky was blue and Izzy put her hands up to shield her eyes from the sun's rays.

"Wasn't it winter?"
