The door of his office burst open. ‘Has no one heard of knocking around here?‘

‘Sorry sir. You asked me to report any unusual activity concerning Mia sir.’

‘I did.’ He said sipping his brandy.

‘There’s been a breech at one of the labs sir someone took yours and Domienico’s DNA samples sir, the ones you gave them to find out if you or your brother was Mia’s biological father.’

He looked up. ‘Why would anyone wan those?’

‘Seems like someone is working on behalf of Mia sir. It seems she wanted to know who her real father is.’

‘And have they found out who it is?’

‘Yes sir. You’re not going to like it. It’s your brother. ‘

He smashed the glass in his bare hand the glass cutting his hand, blood gushing from the wound. He’d kill that little fucker he knew him and Val were close, but he couldn’t blame them either he was never there for her and Bella turning up had drove them further together which had almost caused him to end his own life maybe he should’ve then Mia would’ve been his.

‘Sir your bleeding.’

‘Shit.’

‘Let me help you sir.‘

Cora stepped into Marco’s office she sure hoped Daniele hadn’t let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.

‘Cora please come and take a seat.’

She smiled going into the office. Daniele closed the door making her jump. ‘Relax Cora you’re not in any kind of trouble please sit.’

She slid into the large leather seat.

‘This came this morning.’

‘What is it ?’

‘This is the DNA results would you like to know who your father is?’

‘Have you seen it?’

He nodded. ‘I just needed to make sure before I called you in.’ He looked at her. ‘So I’ll ask you again would you like to know who your father is?‘

‘Yes.’ She sighed.

He pushed the file over to her. She opened it reading through the report. Her evens wide, her mouth dropped ‘no no .’

‘What’s wrong Cora.’

‘No no he can’t be.’ She said tears falling off her face.

‘Well he is.’

‘No no please you don’t understand.’

They both looked at her concerned. ‘What’s wrong Cora?’

‘He can’t be my dad he just can’t be.’

‘We’re sorry.’

‘He’ll kill my mom.’

‘Who will?‘

‘Nicolo. He was obsessed with my mom, when she got pregnant he thought I was his now this, she’s dead.’

‘Calm down Cora.’

‘How come I be calm? This is a fucking disaster. My mom’s fucking dead. If she isn’t already.’

‘We’ll get her out of there I promise.’

Nicolo stormed through the house, how could he be so foolish not to see what was going on in front of his own fucking eyes. Domienico had always adored Val now he knew there was more to it than they had once let on they weren’t going to get away with this. He threw the door open the her room. She lay on the bed covered in bruises, cuts and scars. When he was finished with her she wouldn’t know what hit her.

‘Val.’

‘Leave me alone.’

‘I don’t think so , not today.’

‘Go away Nicolo, don’t you think you’ve done enough damage ?’

‘I’m only just beginning. Val.’

‘Just leave me alone.’

He walked over to the bed. ‘You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for the truth Val and now I have it. What shall I do with you.... mmm let’s see shall we. ‘

He unbuckled his belt she swallowed and he slipped it of it suddenly thrashed against her back she jumped wincing in pain, he repeated this until her back was bleeding and she was sobbing loudly for him to stop. He slipped out of his jeans getting on to the bed he pulled her up to him thrusting forcefully into her, she screamed. ‘You should’ve told me the truth Val.’ He said pushing deeper each thrust harder and more painful than the rest. ‘You lied to me he lied to me. Mia is his Val and I’m going to make sure I get what I want from you a baby I can call my own.’

He continued thrusting inside her. ‘He will pay for this Val he was trying to be honest with me when he said he thought Mia might be his and your denied it, fucking denied it no wonder he tried to blow his fucking brains out you were playing the both of us. You thought if you played miss sweet and innocent he would help you escape how wrong you fucking were. Instead the little shit fell in love with you when he knew you were mine. Mine Val. He pushed one last time pulling out, she fell to the bed and screamed out. ‘I’m getting what I wanted with you Val. I’m having that baby and I’m gonna make damn sure I get it.’ He zipped up walking out of the room closing the door. She lay there tears falling on the pillow she just wanted to die but she had to be strong she had to escape and find Cora.
