Angelo held onto Emily's hand as though he were hanging on for dear life. He urgently needed to find out who this Mr. Anonymous was before he lost both his son and his wife to him.
"I know that you are scared," Emily finally managed the strength to tell Angelo before he turned his head to look at her and then cracked a smile.
"Of course, I am not scared; I am Angelo, the Don." He said, but even with a smile on his face, he did not exude the confidence that he always had in the past.
"You can fool them, but you cannot fool me; I am your wife after all," Emily said. Her mere words alone were enough to shut Angelo up; he was becoming easy to read, and that was a bad sign for him.
"I am not fooling..."
"I am not your father; that required you to be brave at all times! I am your wife, and it is okay to speak to me at times." Emily exclaimed, and at that moment, Angelo saw the tears welling in her eyes.
