Chapter 97

Rome, Italy.

Carlos's pov:

I woke up late as hell, feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. Yawning, I sat up, squinting at the alarm clock next to me. It mockingly displayed 11:03, and I groaned inwardly, realizing I'd missed half the damn day already. Sluggishly, I dragged myself out of bed and shuffled to the bathroom.

As I stood there, trying to wake up, I couldn't help but feel the remnants of last night's indulgence lingering in my system. Thankfully, though, today's hangover was a bit more forgiving than the skull-splitting agony I endured the night before. Note to self: Always preemptively pop those painkillers before crashing into bed after a night out.

After brushing my teeth and indulging in a much-needed shower, I returned to my room, feeling marginally more human. Tossing on some clothes, I contemplated the day ahead, hoping it would be forgiving enough to allow for a slow start.
