Keagan's eyes grew wide at his confession. She moved her head to stare wide-eyed at the grand prince. "You killed the king?"
"Why so surprised?" Artyom grinned at her like a real monster. "Didn't Lev tell you anything about this? He long knew about this."
"This is why he left your family…"
Keagan gritted her teeth. Lev must have lied to the Orpheus about his reason, and Artyom's interest in her made him shoehorn himself back… just so he could save her if things took a turn for the worse. He wanted to see what would happen to the world he was supposed to rule.
Artyom didn't wait for Keagan's answer and bared his long fangs to seal their fates together. However, before he could act, Polina's voice came from behind the door again. She said nervously, "Father, Vera wishes to speak to you. She might have a revelation that needs your urgent attention."
