To go back to when life was easy, and her only worry was what to choose for dinner would be. Even if it meant faking a bond with a mate? Just long enough so she could escape this hellish nightmare? But what would Pearl do when she realizes she’s responsible for someone else’s wellbeing? Could she risk another for her own selfish desires? *** Would she be able to get her old life back? The life before these things humans only fantasized about became real? Pearl's POV

It was only after bumping my head into something hard that I realized they had both stopped walking and we were in the room we woke up for the first time.

I raised my head to see that I had in fact bumped into the Alpha's back and I was expecting him to turn and glare at me or at least give me a disapproving look, but he didn't do any of that.

He went over to the bed and sat on it without saying any words at all.

I remained standing in the middle of the room as all I could really think of was the food that the young girl was probably going to return with.

I couldn't help but wonder what type of food they have here, and I tried to prepare myself to not look too surprised if she happened to bring something strange.

That wasn't the only thought that ran through my mind tho, I couldn't help but wonder if it would be safe to eat what ever she might end up bringing.
