Chapter 17: Getting In Trouble
“What are you doing here?” Valen’s deep voice sounded even before the door to his room opened. His wet hair indicated he’d just come out of the shower. But he was already dressed in his customary jeans and T-shirt, which meant he was getting ready to leave again.
It was barely five in the morning, but after a whole week of missing his departure and falling asleep before he got home, I had been determined to corner Valen before he left today.
His silver eyes raked over my form from head to toe before returning to my face with a deadly scowl. He was clearly irritated, and I hadn’t even gotten a word out yet.
