Why?

The next day...

The princess asked Adam what his relationship with Olive was. He then told her that he used to pursue her, but in the end, Olivia just rejected him.

Kaycee leaned back on her chair. "Do you still feel anything towards her?"

Adam sighed, "It's not important how I feel if she doesn't like me back."

"So you're saying you still like Olive? Then what's the use of having a relationship with me if you have another girl in your heart?" Kaycee asked as she started crying.

"That's not true. You're the only girl I've truly loved," Adam answered.

"Adam, we need a break from each other."

"Why? Don't you trust me?"

"I just need a break because I've been going through a lot lately. Don't come and visit me for the next two weeks. I'll tell you my answer soon."

"What answer? Are you saying you're breaking up with me?"

"It's a yes and a no," the princess said before she stood up and left.

When the princess got back to the castle, she saw Olivia and asked her how she felt about Adam. Olivia then told her that she never liked him.

"Do you know that he likes you until now?" the princess asked.

Olivia started mopping the floor. "I don't know and I don't care, your highness."

"I see. Thanks for answering my questions. You may go back to your room now."

When Olivia went back to her room, she asked Eleanor, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm great," Eleanor replied.

"Let me check," Olivia said as she looked at the gem at Eleanor's heart.

"It's better now. You can start working tomorrow."

"That's great!"

"Remember to be careful."

One week later...

(In the royal hall)

The king asked Eleanor how she was feeling. Eleanor then told him that she was feeling a lot better.

Cameron sighed, "Eva, I have a favor to ask."

Eleanor smiled. "It's my pleasure, your majesty."

"Please make sure that Olive stays away from Carson as much as possible."

"May I ask why?"

"My brother has gone crazy for her. I'm sure she has already told you about the incident," Cameron answered.

"Yes, Olive has been avoiding the prince lately, but it is the prince that isn't," Eleanor responded.

"I've already talk to him. I'll assign Olive to be the cook for a few months. She can't be my brother's personal maid for the meantime."

"Thank you for your concern, you majesty," Eleanor said as she started walking away.

Before she was able to walk any further, the king asked if she liked the necklace he gave her. Eleanor then looked back and told him that it meant a lot to her.

The king smiled. "I see. Then you may go now."

After a short conversation, the king went to the royal hall and requested for Julia's presence. When Julia arrived, the king glared and told her that it doesn't mean she could communicate with his mother that he trusts her.

Julia bowed. "I'm not asking anything in return, your majesty. I just wanted to repay your mother's kindness."

Cameron leaned back on his chair. "Then what has she did for you to be so loyal to her?"

"It's her life. Around nine months ago, I was suppose to be executed because I had a large debt, but your mother came and sacrificed herself in exchange for that debt."

"Who killed her?"

"It was Jack, your majesty."

"Is he a general?" the king asked.

"Yes, but before he entered the Fire kingdom, I heard that he worked as a servant in the Water kingdom," Julia replied.

"So are you saying that this was planned by someone from the Water kingdom?"

"I assume it is, your majesty."

"What does my mother say?"

"She said that she's certain that it has nothing to do with the Water kingdom."

"Is he still alive?" the king asked.

Julia replied, "I'm not sure, your majesty."

"I see. Then you may leave now."

When Julia left, Timothy came and told the king that Julia wasn't who he think she was.

Cameron agreed, "You must be right. I guess I was just overthinking."

"Speaking of Julia, the presence of the gem hasn't appeared lately, your majesty."

"It's fine. There's no rush. Kindly investigate Jack."

"You mean the general?"

"Yes. I want all the information you can get about him."

"You majesty, Jack doesn't have much information."

"What do you mean?"

Timothy informed, "I've already investigated him before you even asked me to. He has a wife who died a few years ago."

"Was she murdered?" the king asked.

"The king of the Water kingdom beheaded her."

"Why?"

"According to rumors, people say it's because she killed the prince of Water kingdom a few weeks after he was born."

"I see. Is that it?"

"So far, that's all the information I have, your majesty."
