The next day...
"Eva, the princess has requested for your presence," a maid said.
When Eleanor arrived at Kaycee's room, she saw the princess crying. She then went in and asked her what happened.
Kaycee replied, "Eva, I'm adopted."
Eleanor asked, "Who told you that? How could you be adopted?"
"A few minutes ago, when I was on my way to my room, I heard my brothers talking. At first, I didn't much pay attention to their conversation because I thought they were discussing about father's case, but I heard them mention my name, so I eavesdropped on their conversation. Then I heard them saying that I was adopted. Second brother said that our parents have kept it for a long time already. I thought I heard it wrong, but come to think of it, both their names starts with the letter C. While mine starts with letter K. I couldn't hold my tears anymore, so I ran to my room and called for you."
"Princess, I think you've heard it wrong, but even if you are adopted, you're still part of royalty. You're still their sister."
"Eva, can I hug you? My heart's breaking right now."
"Sure."
Kaycee cried, "Now I know why I've always felt left out."
"That's not true!" a voice shouted.
"Older brother, what are you doing here?" Kaycee asked.
Carson said, "Kaycee, We're sorry if you had to hear that you were adopted. We actually didn't plan on telling you. But even if you're adopted, you'll always be our little sister."
Cameron added, "I know it's hard to accept it, but that's reality. Our love for you won't change."
Kaycee stated, "I really appreciate all your efforts in comforting me, but I need a few days alone."
"Okay Princess. Call us when you need anything. We'll always be here for you," Eleanor said.
A few minutes later...
(In the king's bedroom)
"What do you plan to do now?" the prince asked.
"It wasn't my fault that she heard it," the king replied.
"Your highness, I think it's best if we just give her some time," Eleanor interrupted.
"She's right. There's no use in arguing," the king added.
The prince looked at the Ceiling. "I have a plan."
"What is it your highness?" Eleanor asked.
Carson smiled. "You'll see."
A few days later...
"Eva, the king has requested for your presence," said Olivia.
Eleanor asked, "In the royal hall?"
"No, In his room."
When Eleanor arrived at the king's room, she knocked. "Your highness, I'm going in."
When she went it the room, she saw some clothes scattered on the bed, but she didn't see any other sign of the king. Then she heard someone lock the door. When she tried unlocking it, it wouldn't open, so she shouted for help. Until a voice said, "Who's there?"
When she looked back, she saw that it was Cameron, shirtless. She then faced the door and covered her eyes. "Your highness, someone told me that you were looking for me."
Cameron replied, "I didn't."
Eleanor's eyes then widened. "Then who did?"
"It must probably be one of my brother's absurd tricks again. You may leave now."
"Your majesty..."
"What are you waiting for? Leave."
"Your majesty, the door's locked."
"What? Move aside. Let me."
After a few tries of opening the door, Cameron gave up. He then turned around and saw Eleanor standing in front of him. When Eleanor looked into the king's eyes, she instantly took a few steps back causing her to trip, but before that happened, Cameron immediately grabbed the back of her waist causing him to lose balance and fall on top of her.
Eleanor was now trapped between him and the bed. They both looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds until Cameron slowly brought his face closer and kissed her lips again and again. It was on Eleanor's mind to move away, but as soon as soon as she felt her heart beating, she started kissing back. She didn't want to stop. His kiss wasn't like any other. It was soft and warm. She wanted more. Until a few moments later, she thought, "The gem." She then immediately got back to her senses and pushed the king away from her.
"Your majesty, we shouldn't do this." Eleanor looked away.
Cameron moved aside. "I apologize. You just reminded me of someone."
"It's okay, your majesty. It's getting late. You should rest now."
"You can sleep on my bed. I'll get a mattress and sleep on the floor."
"No, your majesty. I'll sleep on the floor."
"You sleep on my bed or I'll carry you to my bed?"
Eleanor was then left speechless, so she slept on the king's bed. As she laid on the bed, she thought, "Isn't it the perfect time to look for the red gem?" But something was hindering her from doing it. Everything was going too fast. In a few days, the king stole her first kiss? Could it be that she's fallen in love?
