In Love

(In the king's room)

"What did you give her?" Carson asked.

Cameron started cleaning his sword. "A diamond necklace."

The prince then asked if Eleanor liked it.

"Of course she did."

"Cam, I can't believe you actually followed them to Agua island just to buy that necklace she wanted."

Cameron looked at the ceiling and asked him what was wrong with it. Carson then told him that it was just surreal because he wasn't used to it.

"I just wanted to give her something in exchange for taking care of Kaycee," Cameron sighed.

The prince responded, "We pay her."

"It's a reward."

"Then why don't you do that to the other maids too?"

Cameron looked at him. "They aren't the ones taking care of Kaycee."

Carson sighed, "It's really obvious, you know. You've fallen for her."

Cameron laughed. "How dull."

"I'm serious Cam," said Carson.

"Well I'm serious as well. I've already told you that I don't like her."

"When will you admit that you like her then?"

Cameron shook his head.

"You're such a tedious person. Anyway, it's my turn. I feel like Olive is avoiding me."

Cameron the assumed that Olive hated his brother's childish jokes. The prince then told him that she's petrified when she sees him.

"Why do you even care?" Cameron asked.

"I've already told you that I want to pursue her."

"Well she probably doesn't like you back. I'm positive."

Carson looked at the window beside him and told the king that he hasn't even confessed yet.

"Just give up. She doesn't deserve to be pursued by you."

"That's an utterly ridiculous reason. I can pursue and love whoever I want and you have no right to judge," the prince said.

"Then let's just talk about father's case," the king responded.

"What about it?"

"A few days ago, Kaycee told me that she had a dream that father killed me."

"It's just probably her imagination. If ever father was alive, he wouldn't do that. He wouldn't have a reason to."

The king told him, "We shouldn't be ignoring dreams like that."

"Kaycee is only nineteen. Give me a break, Cam. That won't happen," Carson said.

"She is already in the—"

Before the king was able to finish, Farah knocked and told them that there was someone who wanted to see them. When the king and prince arrived at the throne room, they saw a woman holding a recording chip, so the king asked what her purpose was. The woman then told him that she found a recording chip under his chair.

Cameron folded his arms. "Why would you suddenly look at my chair? So you knew that the chip was there this whole time?"

The woman reported, "Your majesty, don't misunderstand me. Someone has ordered me to get the recording chip out."

"Who?" Carson asked.

"Your mother," the woman answered.

"Such a mendacious statement. Our mother is dead," Cameron said.

"A reckless woman," the prince added.

The woman then explained that she didn't get to see their mother's face, but she gets to hear her voice. She was the one that told her that their was a recording chip under his chair.

"Who are you? Why do you keep mentioning our mother?" Carson took a few steps forward.

The woman replied, "I'm Julia, and I'm your mother's servant."

Julia, Cameron's mother's most trusted servant, had always been the type of person that he disliked. Julia would always room around the whole castle without doing anything. Sometimes people even think that she's possessed for she acts indifferently.

The king asked, "Why would she even tell you these kinds of things?"

"I can talk to her, but I'm the only one who can hear her voice," Julia answered.

"Is mother with you now?" the prince asked.

Julia said, "Yes, she is. She told me to tell you that she loves and misses you."

Cameron sighed, "If you can truly communicate with mother, then we'll be asking you some questions that only our mother knows about us."

"Favorite drink?" Carson asked.

"Fruit juice," Julia replied.

"Favorite food?" Cameron asked.

"Pasta," Julia answered.

"Kaycee's nickname?" Carson folded his arms.

"Kaye," said Julia.

"Carson's first love?" Cameron asked.

"Elaine," Julia replied.

Carson then told the king that he gives up and that mother can really communicate with Julia. Cameron smiled and told Julia that starting from today, she'll be part of their investigation.

Julia said, "Thank you for trusting me, your majesty. Your mother wishes to say that she'll help you figure out who the main culprit is."

The king ordered, "Everyone may now leave."

When everyone went out, the king requested for his servant's presence. He asked his servant if he saw the recording chip Julia was holding. The servant then said that they shouldn't trust her easily because she might be the culprit.

"Yes, your majesty. You shouldn't trust her that easily. She might be the culprit," the servant answered.

Cameron sat on his chair. "I believe she is not. I can see mother through her."

"Your majesty, she might be deceiving us."

"Timothy, you are my most trusted servant, so I request that you stop assuming."

Timothy, Cameron's right hand, had always been cautious of his surroundings. As soon as he gets to know someone, he'll immediately investigate that person and tell the king their backgrounds without Cameron asking him for it.

"I apologize, your majesty."

"Anyway, they must've heard it didn't they?" Cameron asked.

Timothy replied, "Yes. They've misheard our plans."

"Great work. Since we don't know who they are yet, it's better to let them see that we are unaware of their intentions."
