Teach Him

"Hey, hey..don't splash the water at me. Fu*k you Jason."

Micheal try to balance his position in the kayak. He nervously try to paddle forward but Jason continuously splash the lake water at his face.

Splash!

His kayak overturn and he was thrown into the lake. Seconds later, he afloats on the water surface, trying to catch his breath.

"Fu*k you!"

"Hahaha..you're so nervous that's why you're so easily overturn."

Wang Hua helps him to pull his kayak towards the lake's bank while Micheal cling at the end.

"Do you want to try one more time?"

"Yes..but give me five minutes."

"Alright, I'll kayaking first. If you're ready, just shout my name."

Wang Hua pushed her kayak away from the bank and quickly paddling around the lake. She catch up with LinLin on the other side of the lake and soon they compete to reach Micheal.

"Hey..you're too good. Can't you purposely lose to me?"

"Nope. If you want to win, you need to improve your stamina and skill, LinLin."

"Yes..I know but I don't want to exercise more. It's exhausting," LinLin sulked.

Wang Hua just shaking her head.

Unbeknown to them, Calvin and Danial had come and sit down on one of the near gazebo. They had watch how Micheal fell into the water and all.

"The one you like is Wang Hua, isn't?" Calvin asked.

It's not really a question that needed to be answered, more like a confirmed statement.

"How did you know?"

"Hah! You didn't even denied."

"Why should I?"

"Right~"

"So how did you know?"

"You never actively participated in someone else plan, especially if that someone is female. But you didn't just lending your precious car to her but you also treasure the cookies that she made. Maybe you, yourself never realised, but you always searching and staring at her whenever she present. You're eager to meet her too, don't you?"

"Yes."

"When did you met her? I don't remember we had met her before the cafeteria incident."

Danial has a silly smile on his face when he remember their first encounter then the second.

"I met her several times. First time, during the sport's competition registration. Then, I always can pinpoint her if she's nearby me, during the competition week but she never realised I was nearby. Our second encounter, that's at the closing ceremony."

Danial goofing when he remembered he almost kiss her that day.

"There's something happened?"

"It's a secret."

"Hah! Now you learn to keep a secret from me, ungrateful brat!" Calvin jested.

"So, did she know?"

"What?"

"Know that you like her, did she?"

"Maybe but I'm not yet confess my feeling towards her. Not in the near future."

"Why? Maybe she likes you too. She always blushed when you're near her."

"You think so? But I don't know. I'm afraid if I confess my feeling but she rejects, then our relationship will become awkward. Besides, she didn't know we're coming from a prominent family. Maybe she knows we're rich, but that's all. I still want to be more closer to her, to treasure our precious time together."

Silence ensued.

"Do you think I'm wrong?"

"I don't really know. Maybe you should just be honest with her. But you need to ponder and evaluate your feelings for her. How much do you like her, is it only appreciation, admiration, infatuation or crush? Maybe love? You just know her for a short amount of time. You also didn't even know her personality, her background. Maybe she acts gentle, humble only in front of us. I'm not prejudice towards her, but you need to know, nowadays genuine people is hard to come by."

Danial just nodded, understood. Then he walks out from the gazebo, towards the lake. Calvin staring at him with a complicated expression before he joins him.

'We're really brothers.'

"Hey, hey..you're here. When did you come?"

"Five minutes ago."

"Did you manage to kayaking?" Calvin asked, acting oblivious.

He looks at the drenched Micheal and raise his brows.

"Not yet. It's Jason fault. He splash the lake's water at my face. Stupid Jason!" he grumbled.

"Hey, it's just because you're too nervous. See, I already can kayaking around the lake," Jason smugly smiled.

"What're you doing?"

"Lend me your kayak. I want to try it too."

"Hey, you can rent it there," Jason pointed at the rental deck not too far from their spot.

"How much?"

"A dollar for two hours."

Danial walks towards the deck and came back with a two-sided paddle and kayak.

"Can you teach me too?"

He looks at Wang Hua and smiled.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, why?"

"Umm..don't you want to change your clothes first?"

Danial looks at his body and realised he still wear a long sleeve shirt and office pant.

"Can't I kayaking just like this?"

"Umm..you can but it might be uncomfortable and you might fall into the lake later. The lake's water is not that clean, you know."

"I don't bring my sport's attire."

"Umm..alright. Just remove your leather shoes and socks."

Danial obliged before Wang Hua motions him to get into the kayak. She held the kayak for him.

"Hold the paddle with both your hands, make sure it balance and bring it up above your head. Adjust your body if you feel imbalanced. Did you copy?"

Danial nodded.

"Bring the paddle down in front of your waist and relax. Maintain your right hand's position and bring up your left hand forty-five degree from the kayak, elbow out. Make sure the paddle facing the front. Yes, that's it. I'll push your kayak now. Try to paddle forward slowly, right left, right left."

Danial obliged and soon, he already at the middle of the lake. Wang Hua follow behind him to ensure he's not overturn.

"You're really a great teacher. Thank you."

"No, it's you who's talented."

They paddle back together and get teasing by others.
