CHAPTER 22

CHICHI

Chichi stretches and yawns as she wakes up, she clears her throat and says good morning to Susan who was supposed to be on the bed with her but it's rather filled with fluffy pillows. She groans lazily as she sits up on the bed wondering where Susan must have gone, the right side of her head aches badly, a cup of coffee would definitely come to her rescue.

She gets up from bed and massages her head as

she walks towards the kitchen hoping to see Susan there "Susan! You woke early so you better be cooking, I'm feeling so sick you know, food will really help"

surprisingly, she meets the kitchen empty "where is this girl? I hope she hasn't gone to work?" she goes to Tade's room, knocks, and opens it. The smell of alcohol filled the air, Tade is still asleep on the rug, empty bottles of whiskey and her glass cup, disposable plates are on the floor while her clothes are thrown all over the place "Jeez! How much did she drink?" she picks up the empty bottles one after the other to dispose of it in the kitchen bin. She goes back to the room, wakes Tade up and cajoles her to sleep on her bed, Tade sleepily stood up and moved to the bed while Chichi cleaned the room up a bit.

Chichi goes back to the kitchen to turn on the running tap in a boiling kettle, plugs it, and watches while she waits for it to boil. She opens the kitchen cabinet and grabs two mugs, poured some milk while she makes coffee for both herself and Tade. With the tray in her hand, Chichi kicks Tade's door softly and it opened "Hey babes, here I made coffee for you, get up" she places the tray on the bedside drawer and taps Tade gently. She sits at the edge of the bed, sipping her coffee and blowing out the hot air "Good morning" Tade said softly to Chichi who moves closer to her on the bed "Good morning, how are you feeling?" She asked Tade who had just woken "my head is so heavy, my eyes are turning" Tade replied as she grabs the mug of coffee on the tray beside her, she sips then sigh "where is Susan?"

"I don't know, I thought she was in your room, I even checked around but no sign of her, she must have gone to work or gone home"

Chichi informs her while they both sip their coffee.

"Yesterday was a crazy day, it still feels like a dream to me" Tade says and her hands twitch, she holds firmly on to the mug, and Chichi moves closer to console her "you did well dear, you faced your fear, you stood up for yourself, you even looked him in the eyes! Damn! You are brave! I saw my worst enemy yesterday but rather than standing up for myself and facing the monster I hate, I ran like a coward" Tade smiles at Chichi as she appreciates her "thank you for standing by me"

"Common girl, it's nothing, you know you will go a thousand-mile for me if I was in your shoes" Chichi hugs her and squeezes her shoulder

"It will be alright, when are you going to call your

parents? You know you need to inform them about your husband's sudden appearance" Tade quickly stops Chichi with a growl "Ex-husband!" Chichi apologizes "I'm sorry, your Ex husband... Something tells me he has troubles in his sleeves. Don't be caught off guard, try to act fast. You can go to the police to report him so he can keep his distance"

Tade nods in approval "I will call the D.P.O, I'm sure he will sort it out"

"Good you have a police officer on speed dial! What do you have in your kitchen? I'm famished plus that whisky you gave me last night is too strong, I'm having a hangover"

Tade chuckles "That's the best way to get rid of the memory of all that happened last night, has your mom called you?" Chichi flinches as she heard the question, she isn't ready to speak to her mom, at the moment, all she just needs is some time away from her home

"Yea, I saw her missed calls, let me go and get breakfast for us, maybe you should ring Susan and ask her what's her movement like" Chichi leaves Tade's room with her mug in her hand, she heads to the kitchen.
