CHAPTER 5: The simons family

The bell rang for dismissal and students could be seen rushing out of the classroom some stayed behind and started chatting amongst themselves.

kelly waited till the commotion was over besides she was not in a rush to go to that hell her so called family called a home .

she walked slowly so she wouldn't get home on time. she didn't have any strength to up with her stepsister and stepmother's act.

she got home later than expected and saw her stepsister waiting for her at the front door. and she smiled helplessly. she decided to ignore her but maria wouldn't let her be.

"sister, where were you? mum and dad were worried about you. she asked looking worried but kelly knew that was just part of her act. she glanced at her coldly and asked. "how does where I go to have anything to do with you." maria pretended to be sad and said.

"sister I was just worried about you". then mr simons came out of nowhere and gave her a hard glare. "you ungrateful brat what do you think you are doing. your sister was just worried about you and this is how you treat her. this wasn't how I raised you". he screamed.

kelly scoffed before saying. "first of all, she isn't my sister if I remember correctly my mother gave birth to one child and that was ME". she yelled.

"secondly you weren't the one who raised me, my mother did". maria stood in front of Kelly and said. " sister don't get angry father didn't mean it that way he was just angry.

then she held Kelly's hand got close to her then she gave her an evil smile that no one could see and she fell. from everyone's point of view it looked like she fell because she was pushed but that wasn't the case.

"you ungrateful brat how could you do this to your sister.she was kind enough to plead for you but this is how you treat her". mr simons walked up to her and slapped her.then he continued. "you should learn from your sister".

"learn from her, what should I learn from her, if I remember clearly I have the position of the smartest girl in school not her. or do you want me to squander your money like she does. No thank you, I'm perfectly okay just the way I am". she said that and walked away not sparing them a glance.

maria was so angry because kelly touched her sore spot. her scores at school were always average.

the simons family were not too rich but they were not poor either. the family ran a small media company but has not really made a name in the business world.but maria was never careful while spending likewise her mother.

that made her think she was better than kelly. but today kelly reminded her she always be a shadow behind kelly. she gritted her teeth in anger. her mother rushed to her side when she noticed her anger and reminded her to hide her emotions while pretending to hep her up. where mrs simons noticed that mr simons was still angry she pushed her daughter into coaxing him.

" dad don't be angry, sister was angry that is why she said what she didn't mean. mr simons smiled at her and said. "your too considerate for you own good".
