Underground

“We have to hurry!” Alex held Sandra who was so reluctant to follow him and hurry them out to the exit door.

“Not so fast my boy” they heard Lincoln’s voice behind them and stopped.

Alex slowly turns to face him.

“Where in heaven's name do you think you’re going to?, you see, I’m in a good mood today because we are making preparations for our wedding so I will let this slide. He turned to the guards  "take them underground."

“Yes sir”

The guards lead them away with Alex doing nothing, he wasn’t ready to take any risk again.

He is willing to keep his powers a secret from Jack while he finds a way to make Sandra forget what she saw.

Once underground Alex began to understand why his father was killed, he was dealing with drug barons, and he can see that Lincoln is a man of high connection so he has to tread with caution.

“What is this place?” Jack and Alex are so fascinated by the surrounding of the underground building.

They see men and women working seriously with none putting on a smile, they were so busy and armed men walking to and fro. The atmosphere around them was so tense.

Alex could see other people dressed up as doctors and nurses working so busily on computers and speaking in low tones, none dared raise their voices and the gunmen walking around them made the whole atmosphere so tense.

“What do you think they are working on?” Jack asks Alex.

“Deadly weapons, I heard they want to use them on humans…. He pauses as Jack looks at him with shock.

“Humans!... What do you mean humans?”

“What I mean is, they are going to use it on the public”

“What?”

“Yes, and I have to stop them”

“You can’t do that, what powers do you have to try and stop this powerful man?” Jack tries talking some sense into his friend.

“You won’t understand, but first I have to get you two out of here, then I will come back to destroy this”

“No, you will do no such thing, I’m coming with you,” Jack said. “look you can’t do this alone, what am I living for? if I have to die then let me die on a good course. Saving humanity!” hahaha he laughed like he didn’t mean it and turned to face the men who are busy working on some computers.

Alex thought something is wrong with Jack, surely he didn’t mean that.

“Are you okay?” He asks Jack but he refused to answer him.

Meanwhile, Sandra has been quiet all along, she wasn’t talking to Alex, she was just calm that Alex will steal some glances at her now and then.

“What’s she thinking now?” Alex tries to move closer to her but she pulls a little further away from him.

“What will I do for her to forgive me?”

The night falls and Clara is yet to see Alex for the fourth day.

“This is becoming something else, I have to look for him.”
