Just bored

They were still talking when Sandra walks in and they went quiet.

“What are you guys up to?” Sandra asks Alex and then turned to look at Jack.

Why did they stop taking once they saw her?

“Nothing, we’re just bored,” Jack said and got up, Alex said nothing, he just sat there and since Sandra can’t see his face, he feels lucky for that bandage right now, who knows if his face would have given him away and Sandra would’ve known what they were talking about.

“How are you doing Alex?” Sandra sat on the bed with him.

“I’m doing fine thanks to you”

“I told you everything will be fine, and you will be Alex again,” she said smiling at him and he caresses her face with his big thumb.

"How’s my baby?”

“She’s fine, Zack came by the house and he was mad no one told him you are still alive.”

"Yeah, I was planning on visiting him after the surgery, so why is he not here?”

“I didn’t tell him you’re here”

“Perfect, that’s why I love you” he caresses her face again because he can’t kiss her with those bandages.

“I have to go now, the baby needs me,” Sandra said and Alex let her go.

Three days later Jack was visiting again, they talked and laugh, and then Evelyn walked in, is time for his check-up and Alex went with her to the checkup room while Jack stays behind.

“Lucky you Alex, you are one lucky bastard,” Jack said after they left.

Alex knew what Jack is thinking right now, and he can not come back without something to tell him.

After the check-up Evelyn said. “You can go, you are healing faster than I thought”

Hmm, Alex smile at her but without warning, he held her soft hand in his.

“What are you doing?”

“Your Palms, they’re so soft, Do you mind if I take a look?” Evelyn just stares, but instead of Alex taking a look at her palms he keeps staring at her face.

“Alex you have to go, I’m done with you” she pull her hands away and he got up and left.

Evelyn is not new to guys like Alex, she just doesn’t have the time.

“Why is she so cool, didn’t she finds me attractive? Or maybe the surgery didn’t go well” Alex keeps thinking as he walks back to his room.

He has not been allowed to see himself in the mirror so he didn’t know what he looks like. He became worried because if truly Evelyn did bring him back to his original face, then she should be begging him to date her by now, Alex was confident of that.

“Hey dude” Jack called as he walk quietly into the room.

“What’s wrong? why are you quiet”

“I don’t think I’m still attractive,” he said sitting down so sad.

"And why would you say that? Did they remove the bandage? Did you see your face?”

“Yes, she removed the bandage but she’s the only one who saw my face, she didn’t allow me to look in the mirror before she cover me up. But that’s not the problem”

“Then what?” Jack asks so curiously.

“I think I’m no longer attractive, because why will she see my face, and I also flirt with her but she’s cool as ice”
