Chapter 12 The promise

Alex has never had to think about his life the way he is forced to do right now, all he could think about is the promise that he made to Sandra, he has already told Sandra to wait for him and now this?; “what the hell am I going to tell Sandra? How do I go back there and tell her that I was joking?, she has already told me to not raise her hopes.

“What are you thinking?”

“Nothing”

“Mum needs to see you”

“I will be there” Alex got up and leave his room to his mum”

“I hope you are ready, is going to be an exhausting trip.”

“I’m ready mum” Alex was not expected to be weak in front of his parents he has to show them that he’s man enough to run their empire.

“Good, your sister will explain to you how everything works, this is your ticket” she hand Alex something that looks like a passport.

“What’s this?”

“Come with me Alex, I will tell you everything you need to know” Clara took Alex away from their mother.

“What is going on and why is everyone behaving strange” Alex ask his sister.

Look, this is your pass card, when you get there just raise it up and you will be identified.

“I don’t get you, get where?”

"Look this is the only time we have to be discussing as siblings, promise me to behave, I don’t want to loss my position, but if you misbehave I might loss my position”

“Ok, let me pretend to know what you are saying, but unfortunately I don’t”

“You will understand after this trip, but you don’t have to show any kind of weakness in your looks, or posture.”

Alex was really lost this time, he thought he was going to the state to inspect his dad’s company, but is like he is going to face something bigger, but he was build for it, is just that he didn’t expect his family to be keeping secrets from him.

He thought of seeing Sandra today but no.. there will be no need, is better to end everything here and now that they have not gone far with their relationship.

Alex went to bed thinking about what he might see over there, maybe is not going to be good, I have to prepare for whatever comes” he thought.

“Sandra.. am sorry.. I have to end it here, I don’t want to break your heart” he said looking out of the window and spacing out. His phone rang and is Brian

“What did he want now?” he picked his call.

“Hello, Brian how far?”

“Am fine, why do you sound like that?”

“How?”

“Is like you are not happy”

“Am cool, what’s up? Why do you call?”

“I was just calling to see if we can hangout but is like you are not in the mood” Brian wanted to hang up but. “Wait.. wait.. are you at home now?”

“Yes”

“Ok am coming” Alex thought is not go to die before you actually die, let him spend time with his friends before he face what ever his sister is talking about.
