At the council

“Stupid guy, I’m saying something important here and all he could think about is Clara” Alex murmured as Jack hung up on him.

"Is everything alright?” Sandra startled him. “Yes, he quickly slides his phone hiding it from Sandra.

“How’s my baby doing?”

"She’s doing okay, except that her father is always busy with his phone,” Sandra said walking seductively towards him.

“Don’t do that!” Alex warns.

“What!”

“I know what you’re doing but I have a meeting to attend, they call me up at the council”

“Are you going to take that position?” Sandra asks Alex.

"What do you think? If you say no, then is no” he said to Sandra smiling.

“Are you serious?”

“Yeah!, anything you say will go”

“Well, I’m not saying anything, just do what you want,” Sandra said and lead him to the dinner table.

Alex arrives at the council, is his first time being in such a meeting, his father has always been the one attending such meetings. Alex can not imagine himself sitting with these old men discussing serious matters.

He looked around and everywhere is filled up, the five thousand capacity building is filled up with people.

And there were noises everywhere, he saw some people pointing at him and giggling, others murmuring, he wonder what they were saying.

As he stood there searching for where to sit down, a hand tap him on his shoulder and he heard a voice speaking into his ear.

“Easy boy, don’t bite more than you can chew” and then pat him three times on the back.

Alex turned to look, is Lincoln, he was not surprised, only Lincoln can say that to him. He just looked at Lincoln without saying anything.

“Remember our deal, you don’t want to double cross me,” he said and started walking away from Alex with Mr. Eyeglass following behind Lincoln.

Alex was still standing there when he had another pat on his back. Is Zack, he was relieved, at least he saw one young person amongst all these old people.

“Welcome Alex, is time,” Zack said and move ahead of him and he follows. They both find a seat and sat down.

A man walked in a few minutes later and all the people stood up in respect, only Alex was sitting down.

“What are you doing?” Zack asks him “get up”. Alex got up with the others, the man walked in and sat down first, then he motions for all to do the same.

“Who is that?” Alex whispers.

“The spiritual head, he only comes out when there’s an important matter to be discussed.”

“Hmmm, I see” Alex kept quiet, he keeps wondering if he can lead such people, these people know too much, he is just a boy! what can he offer to these people?

“Stop thinking little about yourself” Zack heard his thoughts and told him.

“When will you stop reading my mind?” Alex ask not so happy that Zack keeps doing that.

“I’m sorry, about that, but I’m  always here if you need help”

“Is fine”
