matchmaking center

Sophie stretched her arms, causing the bedsheets to fall off her shoulders as she sat up straight on the bed. The morning sunlight fell on her graceful figure, illuminating her perfect curves and pretty face.

Beside her was the sleeping figure of Kate, who seemed to have just encountered a new objective in her dream and had no plans of waking up anytime soon. She snuggled up tight under the bed sheets which Sophie had just pushed off.

Sophie stepped out of the bed, quickly slipping her feet into the fluffy slippers beside the bed, dragging her feet along as she swayed towards the bathroom.

She had a very hard time falling asleep last night, the reason? Well, today is the DAY!

Two days had passed since her encounter with Amanda and Felix. And as planned, she and Kate were going to the matchmaking program Mrs. Lena had told them about. Though she did not want to admit it, Sophie was feeling very nervous.

Her nervousness caused her to think throughout the entire night. No matter how many times she tried to convince herself, she just could not stop herself from feeling a little scared. The word 'what if' constantly gave birth to so many questions that she just could not sleep over them.

In the end, our pitiful Sophie had no choice but to stay up all night; one could see the dark circle under her eyes, Albeit barely.

The sounds of water running played within the room for almost twenty minutes before stopping. Sophie stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her, perfectly glued to her curvy figure, giving birth to a mind-blowing sight.

Her damp red hair stuck to her face and neck, down to her shoulders. She pushed her hair behind her ears, revealing a pair of captivating black eyes with long lashes that fluttered gently with every blink.

"Hey sleepy head, wake up already" Sophie walked to the bed where Kate was still immersed in her dream world and yanked her leg slightly. Still, no response came from Kate as she rather adjusted her body to a more comfortable sleeping position.

Seeing how she was being ignored, Sophie puffed her cheek and was about to pull the long-gone Kate down from the bed, but her hands stopped midway, and a hint of mischievousness and cunningness flashed in the depth of her black eyes. She withdrew her hands and darted to the bathroom with a wicked smirk on her face.

Her figure quickly disappeared into the bathroom and appeared again the next moment; in her hand was a little container with water in it. She sneaked up to the beg like a ghost being careful lest she was somehow spotted.

Sophie carefully removed the bedsheets from Kate's body, but only to her shoulders though. She poked Kate's cheek with her finger, making the latter turn her face to the other side.

Carefully placing the container above Kate's head, just a few inches away from the poor girl's ear. Sophie took a deep breath, then smiled sweetly. And then, she attacked!

DRIP!

And like a sleeping bird that had been poked by the tail of a snake, Kate sprung up from the bed with a swoosh.

One of her hands was covering her ear; she scanned the room before her eyes landed on the figure of Sophie who was laughing while holding her belly.

Kate stared at her with an unfocused gaze. Clearly, she was still in a dream-like state.

Her eyes remained so for a few moments before her pupils suddenly flashed and her face finally showed a twisted smile as she looked at Sophie with a sharp glare, unblinking.

"So, that's how you want to play, right? No worries, this big sister will happily accompany you" Kate said with amusement before marching towards Sophie.

A few moments later!

"Ooouuuucchh, stop! Please, I give up"

"You sure you don't want to play anymore?"

"Don't be so petty, aren't we sisters?"

" Who's petty?"

"Ahhh! I was wrong, please stop, have mercy"

" Humph!" Kate snorted before finally releasing Sophie from her grasp.

Sophie laid weakly on the bed with both her cheeks bright red; Kate had squeezed her cheeks so hard that they hurt so bad with every single sound she made.

"That's not fair, I was just trying to wake you up" Sophie lamented while rubbing her bright red cheeks with her hands.

"Humph! That serves you right, why weren't you a bit more gentle, besides, it's just 7 in the morning! Are you in so much of a hurry to get married?" Kate said with sarcasm.

Sophie didn't have any word to reply, she just mourned her cheeks in silence.

Kate, on the other hand, stared at Sophie's red cheeks, she suddenly realized that they matched perfectly with her red hair; maybe she should start squeezing them to make them red every day, her childhood friend looked cuter that way.

Sophie suddenly felt her surroundings were somewhat cold and chilling; this type of coldness made her shiver, she hurriedly dressed and dashed out of the room.

An hour later. Kate finally came over to the living room, where Sophie was busy with her phone. Noticing the arrival of Kate, Sophie kept her phone and the two friends left the house.

They did not bother telling Kate's parents because they had discussed that the day prior and Kate's mother had already let her friend talk with Sophie and Kate.

Kate was still strong-headed about the matchmaking matter but her complaint yielded nothing but harsh words from her mom. In the end, she could only format an escape plan in her heart.

_____________

A sparkling black car drove into a massive compound and parked a few meters from an eye-catching car.

Two beautiful ladies stepped out of the car and faced the massive building in front of them.

This was where the matchmaking program would be held.

The building was quite tall, counting almost twenty floors. Other than matchmaking, what else could be done here? Wedding? Couples event? Maybe lounging was still available?

The entire compound was decorated, huge flowers that were neatly trimmed into different shapes were arranged in a certain pattern that spread all over the place but did not hinder the movement of cars or block one's view.

Different statues were skillfully carved at the very entrance of the building adding a cheerful taste to the beauty of the compound.

While Kate was appreciating the beauty of the place, Sophie on the other hand was having complicated feelings while her sight remained glued to the black Lamborghini they just met here.

A coincidence?

Most likely, it must be just a similar model.

There is no way that person would come to a place like this.

Sophie thought inwardly and let out a sigh, feeling a bit disappointed.

'How wonderful it would be if I was matched with him' but again she released a helpless sigh, that would be just as impossible as it is to walk out of the earth on foot.

"Come on, let's go in" Kate took hold of Sophie's hand and dragged the unfocused girl into the building.

What welcomed them was an immensely wide space, like a gathering hall. The place was wide and spacious; enough to fit in a few hundred people at the same time.

The entire floor seemed to serve as a waiting room, with seats arranged orderly inside the hall. The seats easily number up to a few hundred if not a thousand.

At a corner, one could see the receptionist's counter, with five middle-aged women sitting behind the counter and people lining up in front of them.

Sophie and Kate quickly found the line with fewer people and without hesitation, they walked over.

But just before Sophie step onto the line fully, she suddenly bumped into someone who happened to also want to join the line.

Both of the raised their head to look at each other and they froze the next instance. They could clearly see the astonishment in each other's eyes and the shock on their faces.

Sophie stared at the silver-haired lady and somehow felt she was a threat, but they had never met before. So she took it as her natural reaction to strangers.

The silver head lady was just as beautiful as she was, with her silver hair falling to her side in a single and neat column. She had black eyes just like Sophie and their height was quite similar.

The other party equally observed Sophie just like the latter was doing and only praises were what she could come up with. Every aspect of Sophie was perfect in her eyes.

Kate, who was staring at the two ladies was lost for words. How could such people exist? These two women were evenly matched in terms of appearance and demeanor. She suddenly felt depressed.

"Sorry, you can have it," said the beauty with silver hair in a very sweet and alluring voice, then turned around and left to join another line.

Sophie was once again in a daze. Just like that? Did she leave after saying just that?

Sophie was finding it hard to believe and turned her gaze over to the line the silver-haired lady was now standing on.
