4 The board

The next day in the meeting room all the directors including Yeong and Ruby who sat at the head of the table.

"As of this morning stock prices have fallen by point eighteen percent and it just keeps deteriorating " A middle aged woman said.

"Director Choi,stock prices have been taken care of by the strategic and planning team,I just got notified by the team leader that they managed to at least stabilize the stock market " Yeong said. he knew what these directors wanted and he wasn't ready to give it to them, but what was even more upsetting was that Ruby was unusually quiet, was she planning something. He trusted Ruby's remarkable fighting spirit so he knew that Ruby was never going to let any scheming director take her position.

"Stabilizing stock market is really commendable but it is not a permanent solution,at least not when the executive director is the cause of this problem " The old man who sat at the left side of Ruby spoke. He was the Chief Administration officer,who was especially bitter for being demoted to let Ruby take the role of CEO.

"In words that I can understand Mr Choi" Ruby finally spoke. she had been waiting for him to bite and finally he bit.

"As an executive director, letting your personal life affect the company's affairs is not really a good example don't you think? " Mr Choi said and adjusted his glasses.

" That would be miss lee to you" Ruby corrected Mr Choi's manner of addressing her and he bowed in apology.

"The president of a subsidiary company is under investigation for evasion of taxes and it has greatly affected the stock prices of the said company greatly and for some reason none of this was reported to me" Ruby said. and watched the expression of the directors suddenly change,especially Mr Choi who gulped down his glass of water and refilled it.

"The Executive director of 'on air' airways has agreed to hold a joint press conference later today. That would be all" Ruby said and left followed by Yeong who smiled with pride.

"What is going to happen to your brother in law now " the female director who had spoken before asked Mr Choi.

"She is using him to threaten me, that means she wants something "Mr Choi said.

"You are playing the same card that Mother is famous for " Yeong said to Ruby as they got to her office.

"We really are cut from the same cloth,Mother and I. are we not " Ruby said as she took off her coat and hung it on the coat rack .

"That doesn't make both of you the same " Yeong said and sat on her chair and started twirling it.

Tiffany half ran into the office holding her tablet up for Ruby to see. "The mighty chairwoman of Lee Corp has done it again " she said trying to catch her breath.

Ruby took the tablet from her and read the headline of the news. "Top Actress S exposed for committing several abortions with pictures as evidence ". she read out loud .

"Typical Mrs Lee " Yeong said and twirled the chair to face them .

Tiffany felt her heart jump out of her mouth in fear,she never expected anyone else to be in the office. "Mr lee ....." she trailed off not sure what she was supposed to say.

"Mother must've heard of your decision to call for press conference,so she did this. now.."

"Nobody will be interested in your matter anymore as public attention has been automatically shifted to this new big news. Genius plan!" Tiffany took the words right out of Yeong's mouth.

"It doesn't stop me from doing what I should do" Ruby said and then turned to Tiffany "Ask PR to prepare for my press conference " she said and immediately Tiffany left.

"I'm moving in with Jade today . I just thought I should tell you so that Tiffany doesn't have to read it out to you later" Yeong said as if asking permission from her.

"Stop when you've had enough " Ruby said.

Yeong nodded and stared deeply at her. "Are you okay?, you don't look your best today. it's like there is something on your mind " he said

"We are both hardly okay" Ruby replied and Yeong gave her a small smile before leaving the office.
