Chapter 25

TIMERANTE'S POV

I accompanied Sonja to the medical room and urged Norman to treat her while I remained by her side.

Damn it! It felt like a curse. Every time I left Sonja and went to handle unfinished pack matters alone, she always ended up getting hurt.

I couldn't bear to see her lying there, pale and vulnerable, in the medical room once again.

As the Alpha of The Dark Pack, I ruled the entire pack. It was my territory. Yet, I continuously allowed my beloved to suffer within my own domain. It made me feel utterly inadequate.

It was not how an exceptional Alpha should behave. I should protect my Luna and prevent anyone, including myself, from causing her harm.

She was lying in the hospital bed, with half of her hair gone, and my heart felt heavy as if it were submerged in mud.

Pain and guilt overwhelmed me.

After the witch finished treating Sonja, her eyelashes finally fluttered, and her expression contorted with pain. She was about to wake up.

"Sweetheart, how do you feel?"
